Looking back on the season, Kantserov played mostly 4th line. By the time the playoffs started he was playing top-6, mainly on the 2nd line with Danila Yurov (MIN 2022 1st round) as his centerman. Then the coach shuffled lines around and Kantserov was playing LW on the 1st line with Zernov at center and Silantyev on RW. That line has been the best line in the playoffs with all 3 at the top of playoff scoring with Silantyev tied for 3rd with 16 points and Zervov and Kantserov tied for 6th with 13 points. AND - Kantserov is by far the youngest at 19. Almost makes me hope they lose a game or two to extend the series so I can watch him play more than just one more game. Kansterov must be pinching himself. To be 19 in the KHL, and go from a 4th liner in the regular season to being a good contributor on the top line in the playoffs, and on the verge of winning the Gagarin Cup. He couldn't have written a better script. Yeah - he had 15 points in 53 regular season games for a ppg of 0.28. He has 13 points in 23 playoff games for a ppg or 0.59 - a significant improvement - but it wasn't like flipping on a switch when the playoffs started because his scoring was trending up as the regular season was coming to an end. I think it speaks to a steady progress throughout his rookie season and should bode well for him continuing to improve next season when he'll be another year older and bigger/stronger.

I was concerned earlier in the season that it was partnering Yurov that was getting him noticed, but he seems to be holding his own with any line he is put on. I bet there was a few thinking 'who' when KD announced him - credit to the scouts in Russia

Hayes scored the only goal in a 3-1 game 7 loss. He finished with 7g-9a in 11gms. In 26 playoff games the previous 2 seasons he had 5g-9a.

He got plastered into the boards a couple games ago where it looked like he took a head shot. He fell and lay on the ice for a couple mins before leaving the game and not returning. I want to say that was 2 games ago though and I thought he played last game - not sure though. Just a guess.

Manitogorsk won the Gagarin Cup yesterday in a 4 game sweep. They won Game 4 over Yaroslavl 2-1. No points from Kansterov.
It will be interesting to follow Kansterov next season after getting a full season under his belt.

It will be interesting to follow Kansterov next season after getting a full season under his belt. They should have a good team again next year with Kantserov a year older and brimming with confidence and with the coaching staff having a lot of confidence in him. A question I have is whether or not Minnesota 2022 1st round pick Danila Yurov will be back or will he be coming to the NHL. He was a very good player centering the 2nd line.

They did show confidence in him. How many coaching staffs would have put a 19 yr. old not named Matvei Michkov on the top line for the playoffs. From reading your summaries of Kansterov over the last few weeks, it seemed like he was consistent in playing his game. And I'd say he plays the kind of game the Hawks scouts and coaches like to see.

Gajans season ended last night in double OT, 4-3, they were up 3-1 going into the 3rd, he made 43 saves. His season was up and down but he finished strong, especially in games that mattered.
6 goals against in his last 3gms with a .944 save percentage.

Rinzel is listed at 6’4” 180. He needs some serious beef 🥩 on him. Like at least 25 lbs. hopefully he’s already 190. But he has made strides. I look for him to be a really good player next year!!!

I look for him to be a really good player next year!!! university of minnesota had him listed at 175 lbs. which i assume was at the start of this season. he turns 20 in under 2 months so an eventual 25 pound weight gain might be a stretch but i hope he can manage.

My guess is rinzel is already bigger then 180 by at least 10-15 pounds 5 different sites have him at 5 different weights ranging from 175 to 181 but that doesn't mean you're not right.

My guess is rinzel is already bigger then 180 by at least 10-15 pounds When he was drafted he was in the 170s, and looking at vids then compared to now, I'd saying you're right that he's 10-15lbs heavier now.

If the Hawks draft Demidov it might be two years in a row they have a prospect that's nominated for rookie of the year. Or they draft the other nominated player, Silayev. Hard to pass up a 6'7" dman who's a great skater and hits. Scoring is great but so it keeping it out of the net, Silayev will do that, plus he has offensive upside. 13pts by a draft eligible dman is 10pts ahead of second place, who is Orlov with 3pts.

One guy that doesn't get talked about much is 2nd rounder Ryan Greene. He played most of the season with Celebrini and he's exactly what the Hawks need. 6'1" center who's tough and has the hands and IQ to be a 2C. He'll most likely start on the bottom 6 but he'll earn the trust of the coaches.
