Btw, our new punter is 27 years old, lucky punters usually age well. He does have the knack to get the ball inside the 5 fairly consistent. Also our soon to be released punter ( Gill] was dead last in net punt average. best offensive player Iowa had last season, lol. hopefully he can punt into his 40s... Definitely a weapon, special teams generally 1/3 of the game. Caleb told the new punter you will be resting most games.

I think Atlanta did us a huge favor taking Penix at 8. I would have thought they'd want Odunse for Cousins.

Sure, Penix could be a good or even great QB, just not the best plan with your cap space and draft capital in 2024. Could/should have taken the best defensive player that point.

Damn, I didn't know all that. A few months ago, Lance Briggs was saying we should take this dude, lol. I guess his point at the time was that Caleb is more like Fields (scrambles), whereas Penix is more of a pocket passer.

I love how Caleb is hitting the ground running. I'm sure others will be working together with him too. But it is so encouraging to see CW understands he is going to have to invest a lot of work in this transition. A lot of players don't. They assume they have so much talent that they will be great in the NFL, and then they fail/bust. Caleb looks like he's approaching this with the right attitude. One other thought. With all of this attention being put on Odunzie, it's probably a really good thing for Caleb to give D.J. Moore some respect and love too. That is great leadership by our QB1 here. bvmsports.com/2024/04/30/a-new-hope-dj-moore-works-out-with-new-bears-qb-caleb-williams/
