Watched him live in Rockford twice and up here if you like his d that’s your thoughts. Would like to know what scouts have raved about his 2 way play. Names or something you can repost about his strong 2 way play would be nice. If you have watched game tonigh and though his D play was strong we just see a different game Check his scouting report on Elite Prospects, "He's an unrelenting forechecker and backchecker", that's what they first wrote, and when he was drafted the TSN panel talked about his IQ and 2way play, so I'm curious what you've seen to question his play away from the puck? FC Hockey has another good scouting report on Reichel, again they talk about his strong play at both ends of the ice and said the only thing he needs to work on is adding size, which he has and he looks stronger. He should be in the 190s after this summer. His play away from puck always leaning the offensive way, his unwillingness to engaged and make it harder for players to get to spots, let alone his compete level when fighting for the spot. His inability to take people off the puck and his inability to ty up players sticks when playing in front of the net. As I said we see a different game but now I do question KD and company for leaving him in Rockford when he did not need to work on any of his game. I have yet to see this unrelenting forecheck for Lucas game.

I want losses, but I would really like to see progress. Especially in Reichel. He looks like he could lead the team in scoring now, and he’s barely got his feet wet. No way they can send him back. Fuck Rockfords playoff run. Let him go train with Stutzle all off season. He’ll be something to watch next year!!! i like progress too, but i hope KD sticks with the plan. let him lead the way in rockford. everytime lukas gets recalled he's looks better and better. that's no coincidence...playing big minutes on the farm is paying dividends. I don't know the proper route better than anyone else gt but the kid's also looked worse and worse at Rockford when sent back down too. I just see more reasons to keep him up than I do to send him back, even at this point. He's already had that big minute season at Rocford last year and he responded very well. He's stated his desire and readiness to play in the league and looks so IMO. A glimpse of the future for the faithful,I sure enjoy watching him. And a young player who feels rewarded and nurtured by his Org. We might see a possible advantage of him leading Rockford, and a possible advantage of a cheaper re-do when necessary with less NHL production and the disadvantage of good play possibly leading to a few too many W's next year but what does Reichel see? He HAD to enjoy the opportunity to pot one against his buddy and fellow countryman Monday night,(he seemed to enjoy the scrum too) and the pretty apple against his other young, countryman last night. I don't know if sending him back down hurts but I'm not sure it helps either.

He just looks ready physically and mentally to me,and his play last time he was sent down suggested a frustrated kid but he picked-up right where he left-off when re-called. I'm sure you like him as much and want to see him as much as I do,but do you agree he's ready,he's earned it and he's better than some other forwards who've played a lot more? If the answers are yes and other factors have kept him in the A,that could be frustrating for a kid. I don't think for a minute that the Org is making decisions on Reichel with his next contract in mind but two years of his ELC are burned with almost nothing to show for it with only one left to prove his worth.......a 20/50 season this year would have increased that worth. An unintended advantage but there's no doubt he'd be looking at a bigger contract next time if he'd been up this year and producing. If the plan is not rushing kid,it should be kept to,but I don't believe Reichel would be rushed at this point and NHL experience has its' advantages too.

Every time Lucas was sent down it was to work on different aspects of his game not to set AHL records. Judging from his play since his last callup his hard work has paid off. Lucas belongs in the NHL but I can see him sent down sometime in the last two weeks of the season to help with the tank and prepare for the AHL playoffs.

I'm down with seeing him a bunch in Chicago the next few weeks, but he should absolutely be sent down to get that playoff experience in Rockford. gonna be interesting to see what the roster looks like the last couple weeks of the season.

I'm not personally privy to the things Lucas was sent down to work on and I didn't read about those things anywhere either.........set AHL records? The kid couldn't find the score sheet or put up a (+) game to save his life last time down. He looked as frustrated as he deserved to be,but looked ready to prove it when back up......and did. It seems we all agree he's ready and he's obviously better than players who have played much more than him this year but he'll go back down again after playing well again because the team want's to lose and Rockford has to make the PO's? His hard work has paid-off and he looks ready to produce at the NHL level but he'll be demoted again due to things he can't control........he'll be more frustrated than ever. There's also NO substitute for NHL experience!

There's also NO substitute for NHL experience! If Lucas was playing as Q was fond of saying playing the right way Lucas never would have been sent down. Common sense and or the eye test tell us he had things to improve on. He continually improved so the plan worked. Players play better when they act instinctively. When you make changes to you game you must develop new instincts therefore lower production. Thinking slows you down. There is also no substitute for playing in the pressure cooker called playoffs.

How do we know if he was playing the right way or not at the start of the year if he didn't play? The "eye test" would require him playing at the NHL level to make that assessment and when it comes to "common sense"......I'll trust mine.

I might have said (or at least alluded to) this elsewhere, but I'm hoping Reichel gets all of next season in the NHL. Same with a few of our more seasoned D prospects. This year either/or for N vs. A for those guys for tank reasons. Next year? Hopefully they get to show their stuff.
