Tonight's study question: does Soder break .800 sv% tonight? Not even close a good 3 outings before this one now back to ground zero. Well another rough outing all around. Walk around downtown Edmonton and hope the boys have something in the tank tomorrow good grief.

The homeless rate has sky rocketed the past few years. There's a reason it's called Deadmonton.

Woof, what a terrible game! Soda is never going to be starting or backup material, he has been so brutal this year. If it gets us a good shot at Celibrini so be it I guess. This year seems more brutal than last though.

Seen more than our fair share of goals like this scored against us this year. It's a rare treat to score one this season.

Maybe for his own sanity, the Hawks should send Soder back down and bring up Stauber to take some beatings.
Save Commesso for in a couple years.

Maybe for his own sanity, the Hawks should send Soder back down and bring up Stauber to take some beatings. Save Commesso for in a couple years. Digging into things...yeah... Right now among goalies with 20 or more games played, he's 2nd to last in SV% behind Raanta with an .874 this season. Among the same criteria but comparing 'hawk netminders since the 2005 lockout, he's the worst. Digging more into it, In terms of SA/60min, (shots against per 60 minutes), he's seeing 27.9 SA/60mins--so actually less than average (I think a few years back I calculated that to something very close to an average of 30.5 shots/game). In contrast, the best goaltending/year we had was Crawford's 2018 campaign and it had him .posting a .929 seeing 31.1 SA/60min. Even Mrazek this season is right now at .907 and seeing an average of 34.6 SA/60min. So Mrazek, even though his SV% is slightly below the .911 overall SV% average I calculated a few years back and less than the .915 starter average I calculated a few years back, is seeing more rubber and making more saves. We are limiting chances against Soder (at lease quantity), but he's not getting above .900, which in this era I think is the de facto "if you're not above .900 and playing a good chunk of games, you're just not good". I'm not sure if Soder Popinski is a bust or if it's just a lack of confidence, but I think at 20GP we've seen enough to get a handle on his play this year. Even though the Team D sucks shit through a sewerpipe--like it has since the 2016 season, no netminder with over 20GP posted a GAA above 3.00 between Turco's 2011 campaign and Ward's 2019 campaign. Since then only Crawford (twice, in 2019 and 2020) and MAF (2022) have posted sub-3.00 GAA's. In that same time period, Soder is the only one posting over a 4.00--this season. In fact, since the 2005 lockout only 4 netminders have posted 4.00+ GAA seasons with 20+ games: Soder, Elvis, Korpisalo, and Howard. Thus, I don't really think Stauber could do much worse, and if he does it's, not going to affect much; chances are we'll lose anyway. We'll just know that likely neither are the future answer if Stauber does as-bad. But, we do have time to flesh things out. With Soder being bad this year and him and Stauber being the same age, why not get Stauber up and see if he's any better?

I still blame you for that horrendous loss. Feel free, but the previous game I attended? 1-0 shutout win vs Wankouver. I remember that game. Bickel scored the lone goal.

The bulk of the Canuck fans we ran into were actually pretty cool even though I was in a 'hawk sweater, they congratulated me on the win and I wished them good luck for the rest of the season.

Working for Chicago municipality seen a ton in my city. I’ll see how fans are tonight.

Sure there's good and bad spots in every city but they built Rogers Centre 2 blocks from a homeless shelter. I worked a lot of night shifts working on the roads by there, it's very sketchy. And only a few blocks from Rogers is where that guy was raped. A block south an elderly man was almost beaten to death a couple months ago. Edmonton is statically one of the worst places in Canada for crime, up there with Winnipeg.

You stay safe OTH
