Sorry that's not a penalty the guy squeezed his arm and Bedard let the stick go ...then he just fell down. Worse embellishing on that than the last one. The Ducks were diving a lot this game, plus a lot of cross checks to the lower back. One play a Blackhawk was knocked down because of a cross check, so another Duck cross checked another Blackhawk on top of the one on the ice, the ref saw the whole thing but no call and the Ducks started an odd man rush.

Shutout, lost all the fights the only bright spot may have been Kaiser. Thought he looked smooth moving the puck. Have hopes he can develop into a Kris Letang type

Have hopes he can develop into a Kris Letang type A much smaller Letang, but Kaiser's numbers at every level don't say he'll be a Letang type. He did look ok in this game but nothing special.

I'm kinda over the "lose every game so we can finish in first place in the Celebrini sweepstakes" because I think San Jose has that locked up - BUT - I do not want to fall to 3rd place behind Anaheim so this game is big in keeping 2nd place locked up. So - Bedard with 7 points and the Hawks lose 8-7. I agree with you that it seems that the toothless Sharks have the cellar to themselves. But, since the Hawks insisted on winning some games the next floor up from the basement is their place to be. The Ducks helped them cement their just above cellar level abode. Hopefully, the will again beat the draft odds.

I'm OK with the losing as long as progress shows in the young players.
I'm not seeing any progress the last 2 months.
Which takes me back 2-3 years when I have been saying their
development coaches and program just suck and needs overhaul.

Poor KK, stuck with Smegma again. I wonder if his nickname is 'The Cheese'?

Soder has to have that one. Get Stauber up. I don't think they're doing anyone any good playing him here Why torment two young GT's this year? Can't be good for their confidence.

Lankinen with the shutout vs Panthers. What did we get for him again? preds signed him as a free agent, same as we did. But the Preds RE-signed him.

I wonder if his nickname is 'The Cheese'? That would be our goalies name. Killorn's tip was goin' a foot or two wide but Tinordi didn't tie him up,perfect screens by defenders on the next two and ZERO goal support.......where does a young GT sign-up for that? I know Soder's been a big disappointment this year but it seems every GA is a bad one while Mrazak get's 'atta boys' in a GTD for giving up 6 on 24 shots?

But the Preds RE-signed him. as did we. 2 times 2 year deals where the preds signed him on a pair of 1 year deals. i was just responding to a poster who asked what we got for him. lankinen will most likely be on the market next season due to askarov likely playing with the preds.

I watched the game and it was a deliberate loss by Richardson to keep the Hwks in 2nd to last place. This is not a good atmosphere for the rookies. Richardson's coaching this year leaves very little to be desired. How and why did he digress from last year? Hopefully this summer there will be a complete overhaul of the coaching staff.

Obviously a bad call. Seven defensemen rarely works, that extra toughness only resulted in a useless fight and a bunch of minuses, although it showed Kaiser can play both sides if required.

Our defense is well sized, but they’re not really tough, at least not deterrent tough. At the moment, outside of Tinordi and his liabilities, there’s no one that is really a scrapper. It’s too bad the 6’6” and 220 lb. Megna wouldn’t make up for his shortcomings by at least taking some of the weight of that sort of work. Trouble is, you can’t just carry a battleship anymore that can’t also play the game. The forwards are also light in that regard. Picking up a Jeannot type would help.

Which takes me back 2-3 years when I have been saying their development coaches and program just suck and needs overhaul. This is part of why I keep on saying that no matter what draft picks they get, they aren't necessarily going to be Cup champs in the next couple of years. If you are right about the development coaches and the whole program then it doesn't matter when all these prospects show up. The team will still be a mess. Some good will come from the free agents they sign, overall, they need the prospects to all turn into very good nhl players. You legitimately question whether they have the coaches/program to accomplish that.

Luke's in a tough spot my friend, dammed if does and dammed if he doesn't and I'll be dammed if the 'dried in the wool' hockey guy ain't the first to get the boot from the 'kids' at the first sign of trouble. I recently read that 'Prince Daniel' hired a CEO to run the day-day at Breakthrough beverage so he could pay full attention to running the team he inherited and PoBO 'Lil Jaime' is involved in all 'important' decisions, she represents the team on the NHL Board of Governors for God's sake! I wonder how many Presidents of Business Operations can say that? Rules state it has to be an executive of the team and the Hawks only have two(which is unheard of),Danny&Jaime. Make no mistake about who runs the team.

Can't be good for their confidence. maybe not, but I think Stauber, if he comes in and plays better than Soder, can only improve on his career, if not with the 'hawks then maybe someone else taking a chance. Soder has proven that he's better served working at a car wash.
