Good back and forth on Kirby as most know I am a Kirby fan like all young players it takes a while to understand the need to bring it every shift. I fear coming back from this injury will be very difficult. It was not that he was just rushed then he was moved all over the place checking center top 6 wing back to center I hope Luke does not do the same thing to these kids. As far as the trade i was against it but KD is not the first GM to want to get rid of the last guys pieces. If nascar can be a top 6 forward all is fine as far as the size lets see where we are at in 2 years. sorry but also hard to evaluate the talent because of the guy behind the bench.

Do you ever wish your clairvoyance extended beyond knowing KD's thoughts - maybe something along the lines of winning lotto numbers? To be honest, not really. Davidson is not hard to figure out. I am not sure much thinking actually goes on. This is why Bowman hired him and Danny Wirtz promoted him. I don't buy lottery tickets. Poor odds. There are better uses for my investment dollars.

This thread got hijacked by Kirby and Stan talk, back to prospects in the system.
Savoie will be a fan favorite and might earn a spot on the bottom 6 next season. Before he broke his femur it looked like he might've got a shot last season. Coaches and teammates love him and probably why Reese Johnson and Entwistle were let go.
He's another sub 6' player but he was in the 190lbs when drafted, looks much bigger now, so he's well in the 200s. His broken leg in the preseason meant he was able to rehab in Chicago and work with Goodman and his crew.
And maybe his teammate in the QMJHL, Marcel², will get a shot at some point this season. 6'4" 243 when drafted, probably 250 now. That's a large human who can move, his end to end rush at the World Juniors was impressive, especially the finishing cutting across the front of the net. Plus him and Savoie scored some nice goals in the Q.
If Savoie doesn't start in Chicago him and Marcel² should be on a line together in Rockford.

Looking at Ben Gaudreaus stats I forgot he was the backup goalie for Canada, played two games, and won gold with Bedard, Korchinski, Del Mastro, Allan, and Dach. Plus he was teammates with Misiak last season. He'll start in Indy but he'll be familiar with some guys when he gets called up to Rockford.

I believe starting in Rockford, playing more games and against men in a pro environment is the best situation.

Smart move to start his pro career now instead of waiting a season, he can get familiar with the system and play with future teammates in Chicago.
Anyone know what size his skates are? His feet look big, like size 15. Imagine if he has one more growth spurt and he gets up to 6'4" or so. It's impressive how he gets up to top speed in three strides at a stand still with those clown shoe looking skates.

I guess with his large size body, he won't be arriving in one of those "clown-size" little cars, then.

It sounds like one dude is questioning AL's actual age; dose.ca/2024/05/26/artyom-levshunov-grant-mccagg-thinks-he-might-be-older-than-advertised/. I started losing my hair in college so it is anatomically possible that we drafted the next Ken Daneyko and that our guy is not already 23 years-old.

I think the only thing that would give anyone pause would be where he's from.

I started losing my hair in college so it is anatomically possible that we drafted the next Ken Daneyko and that our guy is not already 23 years-old. I’m not saying he is older. However, my son played in these tournaments with these kids from China. Now, I’m no expert on ancestry or size. But I’ve never seen a Chinese kid a foot taller than his competition at 10 years old. Then the next year at 11, there were 3 of them all way taller than their competition. Guess what? They all were 3 years older. They “didn’t have birth certificates” when they came over. Still to this day, they’re 16 and play against 13 year olds. The powers that be don’t wanna be called racist or something else, so they just allow it. Anyways, it wouldn’t be the first time this has happened. Arty does look about 22/23!!!

I also wondered. Wouldn’t that be embarrassing if true. idk...how is a team of scouts supposed to prove some prospect's age? you're taking your chances. just another risk of drafting out of countries like russia or belarus. funny it just comes up now so far past the actual draft. pages and pages of all the top prospects by experts upon experts and one former habs' scout all of the sudden expresses his trepidation? hell...when i was in grade 12 one of my mates was definitely going bald and another one had grey hair. could be true about AL, but personally i'm not worried in the least.

(he was just very slightly grey at best but definitely had some grey hair) the grey haired guy was built like a brick shithouse. i played H.S. football for one year (grade 12) and he was the running back and basically our whole offense. i loved the games but dreaded practice because we had to try and tackle that SoaB. he was powerful. the grey haired guy also sported a full beard and moustache. me, i guess i'd started shaving by then but only just because i had like a dozen wispy black hairs on my chin. we were roughly the same age but i think he must've been entering puberty about the same time i was exiting diapers. : )

Will there be another 'Tom Kurvers Prospect Showcase' event this September? I wasn't sure if it was something held annually or not.

Here is an article from the IceHogs website about the Development Camp. The second pic of the prospects has Lardis in it. His legs look like they have some muscle in them. On the right side at the bottom of the page is a pic from Day Two. In this exercise, I wonder if the players were trying to hit a certain target, rather than just shooting the puck into a big drape. The guy at the far right looks like he's watching where the puck is going. icehogs.com/news/future-blackhawks-at-development-camp-2024

It seemed like an event that should be held each year. I wonder if the Wild will have their announcer there from last year's Kurvers Showcase; the one that couldn't pronounce the Blackhawk prospects names correctly. Remember Chorpinski and Landis from last year's squad? Surely he can't mess up 'Mustard', can he? Before the game between the Wild prospects and the Blackhawks prospects, maybe he'll mention the Blackhawks will be missing the last of their first rounders, 'Derek Vandever'.

Found a vid of a Boisvert fight, he landed 7 straight, first punched dropped his opponent to one knee, he waited and landed a quick jab, third one he stumbled him, fourth was an uppercut followed by right hook, another uppercut and it set up the finishing hook that dropped his opponent.
This kid is gonna be fun to watch progress.
