Was listening to their GM on the NHL rink podcast. He declared that both Reimer and Mrazek are both very close to return and for the time being they are very confident with the other 2 goalies they have (Forsberg including). Let's see if this 1 week without the top two goalies will not cost them the season.

I'll be rooting for one of em to get hot during the playoffs, though.

first game back in ottawa 3 months after entering the nhl's alcohol abuse program so that's nice to see. (and his 100th day of sobriety)

not a prob. there isn't much not to like in this story. edit: to avoid that tricky double negative, there's lots to like about that story. : )

the slo-mo ryan reaves crumble made my day it did. didn't realize ristolainen was that big or that strong on his skates.

the slo-mo ryan reaves crumble made my day it did. didn't realize ristolainen was that big or that strong on his skates. I've had a chance to catch a few Sabres games this year and the 6'4' 220LB Finn plays a fairly rugged game,he's on track for his 5th consecutive 40pt season @25 and he's signed for 5'4M for two more. Buffalo was shopping him for some time a while back and I'm surprised they had no takers. He seems like he's a keeper as far as I'm concerned. His +/- has improved by leaps and bounds under Krueger and I believe he's off the table.

I've had a chance to catch a few Sabres games this year.... i try and avoid watching the sabres. watching nylander is bad enough. seeing the joker playing top 4 minutes would just be too much.

Risto was regressing and could have been had but having better players around him has allowed him to play more of his game and not have to be all things for that team. That was a great reverse hit on Reeves.

It’s too bad we couldn’t have passed Subban on through to them for something else.

I understood moving AA but I thought a center in return was a must last summer,a 4th line wing wasn't what I had in mind......we have PLENTY of those!

He does have a M-NTC so he "did" have a list, but who knows how aggressive teams were to get him or if SB was even shopping him knowing he was going to trade Lehner.

This Dahlin Kid's gonna be a monster too with Krueger's guidance, his +/- has improved nicely this year and they showed where only three D-men in league history had more points before the age of 20 than Dahlin and Orr wasn't one of em,he's still a teenager for a few more weeks.

All of those factors definitely had an impact but CC could have been asked to give his ten team list and should have been. Maybe CC and one of our redundantly smaller D prospects fetch a 1st in a deep draft, there are some good teams in need of goaltending and maybe CC re-signs here next year anyway. This move would have raised the white flag and may not have gone over well with the vets but we have to get better somehow.

His +/- has improved by leaps and bounds under Krueger and I believe he's off the table. I know I’ve had my chances to level a guy and for some reason he didn’t move and I went the way of Reaves. It shows you Ristolainen is quite tough on his skates, and he’s pretty big. I think he’d of been a great fit here, and I’m sure the Sabres were looking more for the cap relief, and Stan coulda got him in the deal with Nylander for probably pennies on the dollar. I know we talked ad nauseam to get a big young dman like him and even him. I still believe that money last summer would have gotten us a lot better. It’s time to use whatever cap space we have to take on a bad contract and get paid handsomely for it. Wouldn’t it be nice to see this org get a Teravainen for taking on a bad contract? We have the power to do this. And should be doing this!!!

That’s hilarious and sad all in one clip. I don’t wanna see that happen on our side of the pond. I would start a fight in the stands if that happened at a game, someone’s gotta be entertained!!!

Rinne lit up for 8 goals on 31 shots (.742) at home against the oilers tonight. Mercy pulled with 10 minutes left. 5 point nights (so far) for mcd and draisaitl Looks good on him.
Edit: his shooting percentage might be the best in the league but his save percentage took a hammering tonight. : )

another nasty skate to the face, this time johnny boychuk from the islanders.
thankfully it sounds like his eyesight was unharmed.
edit: GM lou lamoriello said it took 90 stitches to repair the eyelid. so it sounds like he was extremely lucky if indeed his eye wasn't damaged.
here's another guy that got "lucky". that guy was awarrior.

Still, there’s the disappointment of ‘71 where he broke our hearts. Maybe when he gets where he’s going Magnuson gives him a two hander across the ankles for a welcome.
