Rocky deserves whatever comes his way,he displayed the exact the behavior an enabler displays. He didn't know 'MY ASS' and I said that since the day of the presser after the law firm he hired went 1,000 miles out of the way to appease and clear him. That said, the 2nd Black Ace remembers now? Vincent too? He can say what he wants but HE was the coach the victim confided in and he did the same thing everybody else did. The ex-cop didn't go to the cops either......or HR! He said "he was ignored" even though a meeting was called and he said "his career was derailed"........what was he 70 and on his 2nd career? If all this went down the way Vincent is saying, why not go the police himself? Why did he say nothing until the story broke.

More like from JFK to LAX or 2829 miles. He slithered his way out of it. Now he’s paying for it terribly. Or financially that is. He’s pissed off with Beach because he more than likely had to pay him 40-50 million. And John Doe 2 probably got a solid 5-10 million. The evidence says he did know. He took the Wirtz way out. I knew it was too good to be true. A Wirtz is a Wirtz is a shit head. I’d hope that they just sell the team and get the hell out of the way. I feel the league should force them out. I hate comparing shitty circumstances. But that LA clippers owner got forced out for racial slurs. I’d hope that the Wirtz tree should be cut down for harbouring and abetting a known rapist. Like, how hard is it to pass the case along to the police? As an owner (I don’t doubt he knew), he had to step up instead of relying on his deadbeat lackeys to do his dirty dirty work. In the end, any organization is only as strong as the ones at the top. Everything works from the top down!!!

from the article...
When reached by ESPN on Sunday, the Blackhawks confirmed that Rockford IceHogs head athletic trainer D.J. Jones' employment had been terminated in November. According to sources, the person was a member of the team's ice crew and the allegations were from an incident that happened years ago.
"Under our new leadership, we have made it crystal clear that nothing is more important than the safety and well-being of our players and employees, and there is a zero-tolerance policy for any violation of our standards of conduct in our organization. We have done a lot of work to ensure an environment where employees are encouraged to feel safe coming forward, even if it is about wrongdoing that occurred in the past," the team said in a statement.
"Recently, when allegations of sexual harassment in 2014 by D.J. Jones, the head athletic trainer for the Rockford IceHogs, were reported to the Blackhawks on October 27, 2021, we adhered to our new protocols and procedures, suspended Mr. Jones, conducted an in depth investigation over 5 days and, following the conclusive results, terminated Mr. Jones on November 3, 2021."
Jones could not be immediately reached for comment.
Jones was in his 16th year with the IceHogs organization. His name has been scrubbed from the team's website, and his information is no longer available on an internal database for trainers. The IceHogs have promoted their assistant athletic trainer, John Walter, to the head trainer position.

As I've mentioned before, the only ones who should go to the police without the alleged victim being complicit are mandatory reporters, and of everyone on the team, only Gary could have possibly be considered one. If anyone else did without Beach wanting to be complicit in reporting to the police did so, it runs a very real risk that Beach would have 100% clammed up, denied everything, and basically torpedoed the whole case before it even started. Vincent possibly knew that. What should have happened was everyone on the 'hawks who knew at the time (no claim to who precisely knew, just if they knew) should have tried to talk Beach into going and offered to go with and be support--as well as do whatever they could to keep Aldrich and Beach separated if they could. Laypeople might this it was as cut-and-dried as, "Go to the cops"; it's really not that simple from the psychology side of it.

It’s not really on him to know the law in a foreign land. The management should have consulted Beach and told him they’re taking it to the police. He should do the same. Or something like that. This is why I don’t understand why Rocky couldn’t answer those questions. I think they’re legit. Very legit. What parents want their child playing there? Or get drafted by them? Again. How hard was it for the org to turn the guy into the cops? I don’t see the logic in just standing firm!!!

In terms of your synopsis of Rocky, I agree: the questions are very, very legit and it should give anyone pause the fact that he couldn't answer them. You're completely missing my point about the Beach situation. If the 'hawks did that--said, "They're going to the police with or without him", they would have done more damage to both Beach himself psychologically and the case itself--especially if Beach was not in the right headspace for disclosure. There is high chance that he, like almost every other victim of sexual assault who was, is, or will be outed against their will, would have vehemently denied it. Statistics prove that. The minute there is a denial is the minute they would hand the defense a lot of ammunition. They couldn't be heavy-handed on it. I think Canada's laws are similar: If someone else reports a sexual assault/rape, there's not much that could be done until/unless the victim cooperates. That information was known to professionals in the field 12 years ago. The heavy handed approach doesn't work in spite of what laypeople think. However, to your point there is no reason the members of the upper brass who swept this under the rug couldn't have tried to do the same--offer their support to disclose; and not be heavy-handed about it--and most certainly not tell the victim that what happened was their fault, like that cuntpickle Gary did!

I fully get what you’re saying. I just think with a big corporation like that, they’d have something in place or someone there who handles that stuff. I only bring this up because my buddy works in Michigan. He’s been there 15 years now. In 2009 he said that his boss was walked out for sexual harassment. Apparently they told the victim of all their rights and what paths they can take. How hard is it to do that? Tell them to go the cops or whatever their rights may be. Have them talk to the company lawyer etc. it really can’t be that difficult!!!

Going to the cops against the victim's will or behind their back opens up a minefield. And you are right, most if not all corporations should have processes and departments in place that can handle this sort of thing. Unfortunately, most companies' HR department aren't serving the interests of the employees, but the interests of the company itself. Good companies, like your buddy's apparently, will do the right thing. A lot of others will be wondering how to quiet and silence all allegations to make sure the company doesn't look bad. Apparently, because cover-ups look better than saying, "We don't tolerate this shit here."

Maybe not the exact right forum for this. The Hawks mutually parted ways with Bobby Hull as an ambassador.
I think we can all draw our own conclusions as to why!!!

Unfortunately a lot of perception nowadays is the illusion that something has changed; trying to play lip-service to the press and social media without actually putting money where the mouth is. In my estimation he should have been gone awhile back--if not never back than at least around when the Voynov incident hit and people were questioning hockey players beating their spouses.

Although he wasn’t from my youth. I can fully respect how this would create mixed feelings. That’s why I wasn’t happy with Spittin Chickletts and the hockey world for coming down on Roenick for his joking comments he made about Kathryn Tappen. That’s his wife’s best friend and it wasn’t even that bad. All he said was something along the lines of people thought that he was an ugly lucky guy having his way with two beautiful women. But as far as Hull goes. At least they let him retire and fade away. The org kept him around forever and I don’t think they should politicize this. Just say he retired and that’s it. And never hire anyone with that type of track record!!!

Just my opinion. When Dollar Bill died, Rocky hired McDonough who wanted to rectify what appeared to be image problems. So Hull and Mikita were brought back into the organization as ambassadors, and Pat Foley was brought back as the play by play for TV only. I'm not sure Rocky wanted to do these things, but the marketing guru sold him on these moves, including finally putting all games on TV.
Since McDonough was fired, I can't help but notice things being undone, which includes both Hull and Foley leaving the organization. The timing of Hull leaving seems to obviously tied to the cultural issues the Hawks are going thru. From what I remember about Foley, he was let go before because he was difficult to get along with, so not sure Rocky ever liked him. Again, this is just my opinion.

Well that sucks if Foley isn't retiring only because HE wants to. If he was pushed or goaded out...

I can fully respect how this would create mixed feelings. the mixed feelings i have are not because bobby hull was one of my heroes. i was a much bigger mikita and tony-0 fan. of course i was a fan of bobby's but he was down the list a ways. when he went to winnipeg, i think it affected me less than when bobby orr retired from the hawks. like others have said, he shouldn't have been made ambassador to begin with. the part that bugs me is that due to something else totally unrelated to bobby hull, they are taking something away from an 83 year old man who likely is in no position to harm anyone again. if someone wants to say "how can you stick up for this racist, pro-hitler wife beater?" i really don't have an answer. right or wrong, i feel bad for the guy. if it helps, it wouldn't have bothered me in the least if they'd have passed him over 12 years ago when the ambassadors became a thing. it's kind of hard to explain. i just have a thing for the elderly. anyways...they said it was an amicable decision. i hope so.

Foley did clarify and said that he couldn’t come to an agreement on a new deal. He said that they wanted a long term deal and he just couldn’t commit to that. However, there were a lot of reports out there that he was indeed being forced out. I also heard a while back that the Hawks wanted to get rid of anyone who knew anything about the Beach situation. Not saying Foley is guilty at all. He does fly with the team and is around them. Maybe he knew in some capacity? Or maybe they just wanted someone younger!!!

I can fully respect how this would create mixed feelings. the mixed feelings i have are not because bobby hull was one of my heroes. i was a much bigger mikita and tony-0 fan. of course i was a fan of bobby's but he was down the list a ways. when he went to winnipeg, i think it affected me less than when bobby orr retired from the hawks. like others have said, he shouldn't have been made ambassador to begin with. the part that bugs me is that due to something else totally unrelated to bobby hull, they are taking something away from an 83 year old man who likely is in no position to harm anyone again. if someone wants to say "how can you stick up for this racist, pro-hitler wife beater?" i really don't have an answer. right or wrong, i feel bad for the guy. if it helps, it wouldn't have bothered me in the least if they'd have passed him over 12 years ago when the ambassadors became a thing. it's kind of hard to explain. i just have a thing for the elderly. anyways...they said it was an amicable decision. i hope so. I hear what your say GT. He was were we go to eat before games in the corner trying to sell merchandise alone it was pretty sad. He was very great with my kids would talk to them forever. I believe he was just told to go I get why just makes me sad guy can barely walk now told he is not welcome anymore.

It was probably time for Hull to fully “retire” but it bothers me a little if it was for being an alleged racist or whatever as if the club is doing a cleansing of anyone who has skeletons in the closet. If that’s the case they may as well shut the doors.

Bobby was as much THE boyhood hero as anyone, there were others but Bobby had that 'aura' for me as a yongster. I was okay with him as an ambassador when others weren't even knowing two ex-wives accused him of abuse and that was my failing! There's some scuttlebut about some obscure Hitler statement he denies so that's a non-starter for me. It was those 50yro abuse accusations Danny and Jamie and the rest of the Mickey Mouse club now hold against the frail, harmless 83yro...........EVERYTHING about this Org SUCKS now!
