likely a tad early but why not?
Blackhawks lines in practice:
Kane-Johnson-DeBrincat Hagel-Toews-Kubalik Khaira-Carpenter-Strome Reichel-Dach-Kurashev
De Haan-Kalynuk Stillman-Murphy Caleb Jones-Beaudin McCabe-Seth Jones
edit: i just copied and pasted from the ben pope's tweet. for whatever reason...sometimes the tweets get deleted on twitter, and when they do they disappear from here as well, leaving a strange empty post. mr. pope went on to add not to pay any heed into the order of the lines/pairings.
anyways....i like the fwd lines. i hope they can squeeze gaudette in there somewhere. i got a good feeling about that guy.

I know it's only day 1 but Debrincat-Johnson-Kane would be the smallest first line in the league.
Strome with 2 strictly 4th liners doesn't look good for him.
I like Kubalik-Toews-Hagel though.
The D pairings look good, McCabe on the first pair is much better than de Haan, Calvin proved last season he's only good with limited time and not on the top pair.

Thanks GT, great seeing clips of drills. Great hearing Jones wasn't breathing heavy and could've went another hour. Toews line has great chemistry, nice passing on that clip and great save by Lanks. The 7th round pick that left early after blocking a shot is only 150-155lbs, shouldn't block shots with those skinny legs. And I agree, I hope they can squeeze Gaudette in there somewhere. He played tough at 170lbs with that infection, gaining 20lbs in one summer and finally healthy should really help his game, plus he's a righty.

At least TJ's a tougher vet who plays a bit bigger than his size,I'm sure that line would get their's during the regular season but would PO action pose a different challenge? I like Hagel getting his well deserved shot with JT because he'll work his ass off and stick up for his linemates but wouldn't a big bodied winger with skill be a better fit for the role? We have some good offseason additions but power forward wasn't one of em,does the FO see the role as important? Why not get something.......ANYTHING for Strome before forcing him to play bottom six wing? He'll obviously be ineffective and his value will be nonexistent if it isn't already. We could use that cap space to pay Brent 'buyout' Connolly's 3.5MX2. Now if this Borgstrom kid breaks through, that trade might be worth it but if not,it's not the fleecing it was made out to be.

I agree with vadar and Bob, Strome needs to go and it's almost too late already. Similar to the Gus situation. Sell high!

One thing I like and have been clamouring for is to let Dach earn his way. I absolutely love the idea of him on the 4th line to start. If he puts up good faceoff numbers and decent point production, you move him up.
I thought the Hawks did a decent job last year of having a lot of guys on one year deals and plenty of competition. I like the competition part this year but a lot of guys seem comfy. So we’ll see.
The last thing I want to see is a primitive man to man d zone system. It sucks and it’s stupid. It hasn’t worked and it won’t. The good news is I read an article the other day on the Athletic about the d zone changes needed to be successful and it seems they may abandon it. So let’s hope so. If not, I’d have to think JCs leash is very very short and so is Scambo’s. So look for them to be less stubborn and get shit done!!!

Nothing wrong with Dach having to prove himself again, he did as an 18yr old missing camp and the start of his first season playing on the 4th line, last season they rushed him but he did start on the 4th line, not for a full game though 🤦♂️ I really hope it's true they abandon that horrible man on man style, it even sounds bad for heterosexual men lol nothing against being gay, just not for me.

Day 2 had all 3 squads practicing and scrimmaging.
Surprising to see R.Johnson, Gaudette, and Regula on group C, but each group has guys that'll make things tough for bubble players.
Up front players like the 2 I mentioned above plus Entwistle, Hardman, Slavin, Hayworth, and Pour with be fighting for a roster spot.
Pour really impressed me at the 2 prospect games, he turned 22 in April, 6'3" and known for his defensive game and skating and that was evident, but he showed patience with the puck and good hockey IQ. Colliton mentioned him standing out today from group B and C, as well as R.Johnson, and Entwistle.
Plus everyone loves Fleury, especially Kane, it's great having a goalie with his hard working fun attitude who stays after practice and never gives up on saving the puck. It'll push Kaner and the rest of the team to be better 👍 great trade.

nice little give and go between JT and mccabe. i knowit's just a 10 second blurb from a training camp scrimmage, but i can't help but feel hopeful that we'll see the captain on opening night.

Welcome back Ryan Stanton. I assume this is a stop off before Rockford, or he does well enough to be snatched off waivers on his way to Rockford?

surprisingly, not much difference in day 2 of camp. just carpenter dropped for connolly and strome moved back to center. everything else the same i believe.
Blackhawks lines:
DeBrincat-Johnson-Kane Kubalik-Toews-Hagel Reichel-Dach-Kurashev Connolly-Strome-Khaira *Carpenter
McCabe-Seth Jones Stillman-Murphy De Haan-Kalynuk Caleb Jones-Beaudin

Man, not sure but it looks like only two guys over 6' on the top two lines. Even if not, still quite small.

Wow. Pretty damning critique of Strome. Not surprised about it though. He needs to thank Dcat for the contract he earned for him.

Wow. Pretty damning critique of Strome. Not surprised about it though. He needs to thank Dcat for the contract he earned for him. It looked like he was playing LW in that clip or he wouldn't be along the boards that much but he certainly didn't look like he was killin' himself out there. This kid just ain't a bottom six winger and skating him there doesn't do him or the Org any good IMO. The 50+ games after he arrived,a lot of which saw Perlini on the off wing with D-Cat were a decent sample size and maybe just an outlier but nobody can say he's really had a prolonged stint centering D-Cat since their success together two years ago. We saw Suter and Carp getting 1 and 2LC minutes over Strome last year and that made little sense to me. If he wasn't moved last summer, then put him back with D-Cat and maybe Kane too,if it picks his game up,then he just needs better linemates........if not he's just a bum but his numbers woulda been better either way for a trade that shoulda happened. The HC has no use for this player and he might have his reasons so can someone explain why he's still here further destroying any trade value what so ever? I've heard 'maybe SB didn't get the right offer' but isn't any offer that clears the cap space of a player without a spot without giving up any assets the right offer?

Good article and a few thoughts..... www.nbcsports.com/chicago/blackhawks/blackhawks-2021-22-training-camp-day-2-notes-and-takeawaysKane and Toews have TONS of miles on the odometers and it's easy to forget that sometimes. Re-do D-Cat now? MAF IS a great individual as my buddy out in LV reminds me all the time(he was HUGELY popular) but it ain't like we had a bum in net till now. Jones gets #4 but it ain't retired and he has all the tools to live up to it and maybe more. Seabs and Keith are gone.....thanks for reminding me.......along with Crawford,Shaw and Saad recently.......the era is officially over. Who wears the A's this year? JC said "Stan's involved with that" is that the way most teams do it?

I wouldn't be opposed to it.
