I’m getting very nervous about this rebuild. If the team is in a playoff spot come December or Even January. How can they justify trading away anyone? They’re gonna add to it if anything. This team was clearly lacking direction and real hockey people to lead the charge. I said this before and I’ll say it again. The last GM was only successful with Q around. Q was the one telling him who and what to trade for. Once Q was gone, you could see the massive fall off. Richardson will be just like Q. What a beauty he is. I sure hope they don’t change course now. I hope if anything they trade off anyone doing well within the next month. Gonna be real interesting real soon!!! Just goes to show just how horrible a coach Colliton was. He had more talent and got less out of them then Richardson is with this roster. Hawks didn't win their 3rd game last year until November 9th and didn't win their first regulation game until November 12th. Coaching matters,it always has and it always will! We don't yet know if LR is a great HC after a few weeks BUT the man is obviously competent, confident in his ability and most inpotantly......authoritative. Potter was neither of those things,he installed a system that was damaging to his team and had a stubbornness a young HC shouldn't have,it was VERY telling when a career AHL coach came in and immediately turned a terrible team around.....even if it didn't last.

we're 2 points out of first in the western conference with a game in hand on 3 of the 4 teams ahead of us. not exactly tickled pink about this but i'm not exactly pissed off about it either. i'm so confused. From what I saw, they are only one point out of first in the Central with that one game in hand. Not at all what was expected, but good for them. As for the Kitty Kats, they aren't even kitties, they are cat fetuses. What a bunch of losers who are just following up from where they left off last year. The Hard Working Hawks do it again. They are 4-2-1 but last night reminded me of the team I saw against TB in last year's PO's......I dunno if I'd say unmotivated but definitely indifferent. I knew they'd miss Weegar,Giroux,Duclair,Marchment,Vatrano......Tippett and Accari offered good depth too and losing Ekblad again is a killer BUT Fla trailed by 2 or more and was outplayed for two periods and no big hits from Bennett or stirring things up from Lomberg to turn momentum? I take nothing away from the Hawks' superior effort last night but it was hard to ignore the Panthers' lack of it too. I'm not sure a team cemented in 'win-now' mode moving Huberdeau and Weegar was such a great idea, especially when you consider they included their last remaining 1st for some time too. Maybe move one or more of Reinhart 6.5M,Verhaeghe 4.16M,Hornqvist 5.3M or Bennett 4.25M(all pretty much invisible last night and against TB last year)instead......Fla simply couldn't afford to lose Weegar. Tkachuk will undoubtedly be a better player than Huberdeau in 4-5 years since he's 5 years younger but Fla has to win NOW and I doubt the big,physical,two-way,consistently productive, 29yro Huberdeau was their problem. He's also an incredible value this year @5.9M......F'ing Reinhart makes 6.5M! I don't know if I'd want to hand Huberdeau a 10.5MX8 deal that starts when he's 30 but he stays healthy and in condition and Fla has 5.3M in dead space come off next year and Bob can bough out after this year to great cap relief......even better if they can wait another year but waiting is the last thing they can do now.

Then they brought in crawford to be "associate" coach, but was really the guy calling the shots and things went to shit from there. Derek King let that slip last year when he said crawford was running things. I said from day one when crawford was hired it was the biggest mistake made. JC needed 4-5 years in Rockford as HC with tutoring from Q on how to be an NHL coach.

From what I saw, they are only one point out of first in the Central with that one game in hand. you are correct. i was talking western conference, not central division. I realized that, but felt it was interesting to point out how well they are doing in the Central, contrary to all expectations.

You always provide a much better analysis than I do, or could ever hope to do. For example, I am content calling the Panthers, Kitty Kats or Cat Fetuses and say they suck, as though I was a mentally challenged 17 year old with a very small vocabulary. You go into depth about what they've done and where they are going and why they are like they are. I gotta commend you on your posts. They are almost always very informative and insightful. Thanks for your thoughts. They are good to read. Back to the game, though. For the Florida team to lose to the Hawks is a very good indicator that there is something very wrong with that squad. Can't blame the coach---they got a very experienced guy at the helm. Maybe they are indifferent. But, losing to the supposedly tanking Hawks with all their stars is something they should be ashamed of and be cause to again look for a spot in the AHL.

Last night Barkov missed 4-5 wide open shots he would normally bury. Their PP woes aren't helping either right now, but that should change. The Hawks did have to hang on for dear life in the the third. TY Captn for sealing it last night.

The couple of time I saw him, he reminded me a but of Sharp when Sharp first came in as an analyst. Raw and rough but had the chops. He's already better than Cheesedick in my opinion. i'm going to get a bit of grief for this but i actually don't mind him between the benches. tbh, he has been bothering me less lately as well. I kinda like it when he and Sharpie are on cuz 10 has no problem giving him shit. when Shaw was on it was hilarious. I think he will learn not to open his yap as much when they are on cuz he knows he is gonna get fucked with. you could tell he got big mad the night Sharpie was harassing him about his jacket... plus, I'll always have a tiny soft spot for him, as he scored the game winner that denied the giant douche that is Enrico Blasi a natty....

JC WAS thrown into rough spot and I appreciate your support of an unpopular coach/player(I know it ain't easy)but his defensive system was widely criticized and his stubbornness till the very end was frustrating. Can't put it all on Crawford or Campbell or Brookbank.

The Panthers team we saw under Q back in the 1st round against TB in '21' fought like ANIMALS and they only became enraged when they fell behind by a few the last two regular seasons under Q and Bruno. I just don't know what to make out of the team from last year's PO's or from the indifferent reaction to being down a few last night.....under a new HC who knows what he's doing.

But, if the urge to win/excel is not burning and dominant in the early part of the season, what the hell are they out there for? I would also expect more out of those pussies after their embarrassing performance against the Bolts last year. Don't they have some redeeming to do? The fact that they didn't beat the Hawks as part of their atonement is why I said there is something wrong with that lifeless organization.

We know anybody can win on a given night and the Hawks effort has to be commended BUT how in the hell do the Panther not 'get up on their toes' after going down by two? They came on in the 3rd with a goal on a rare breakdown and one on a deflection after the Hawks were totally gassed from killing five penalties in the 2nd.....one a 1:30 5 on 3 but they looked resigned to losing and unwilling to match their opponent's effort up to that point.

This game reminded me of a game in...'09-10 season, I want to say. The Hawks were obviously at the top of the food chain and the cats were solidly in the cellar. The cats somehow managed to quickly score 3 goals on the Hawks -- puck bounce, whatever -- and were up 3:0. The Hawks decided to wake up and soon enough it was 3:2. I was sure that in the 3rd the Hawks would score a couple more -- didn't happen. Sometimes even a much better team can't quite impose their will on the inferior opponent. The cats were clearly a superior team and came close to tying it in this game, but it just didn't happen for them. The concern is that the Hawks will win their fair share of games like this one and will end up in the middle of the standings.

Weren't they equally awful in last year's two playoff series on the power play? My memory could be wrong about that. But, if they were, then they have done nothing to improve that deficiency in their "game". I copied this from an article on the game: The Panthers had five power plays in the second period, including 1:35 of 5-on-3 advantage, and managed only four shots. Yikes, four shots on five power plays including 1:35 of 5 on 3. They do suck; or don't give a damn about playing the game. They should send off to the Everglades to look for pythons. Maybe they'll be better at that than playing hockey. Another surprising stat was the attendance which was about 12,600. Quite a drop from the usual. I guess the Chicago "fans" aren't too excited about the revival yet.

No, they aren't, and I suspect they will remain unexcited until after the trade deadline. Unless they win enough to make the playoffs. Then all bets are off.

no word on tyler johnson's injury but at least he's walking although obviously laboring a bit. hopefully nothing long term, he's likely playing the best hockey he's played since he got here and he's getting high praise from luke for his play without the puck among other things. "He's been so good for us," Richardson said following a 4-2 win. "We just hope it's not really long. He's a tough cookie. He's been great statistically for us, but watching him play away from the puck this year has been really inspirational for younger players on the team. He's leading by example. He's tracking hard. "He's not a big guy, but he's physical. And he's a presence, he's a voice. He's got the experience of winning and what it takes to win, so definitely if he's out for a bit, we're going to miss that. We're just crossing our fingers tonight for that."www.nbcsports.com/chicago/blackhawks/blackhawks-tyler-johnson-likely-miss-time-leg-injurybtw, i only understood 3 words of stalock's speech, a "table" and 2 "ehs".

There are not a lot of people who like him out there, but he's still rammed down our throats by NBCSN. They should be the ones reading the room. Coaching matters,it always has and it always will! I get it...to be fair to JC he was thrown to the wolves by an incompetent GM, and then was given Crawford as a Nanny. Maybe JC ends up getting some more experience and becomes a better coach, or maybe he turns into Hartsburg. I don't know, but he was still the wrong guy for the job at the time. King wasn't much better. The blame for all of that goes to the H&RBlock Reject, though.

They came on in the 3rd with a goal on a rare breakdown and one on a deflection after the Hawks were totally gassed from killing five penalties in the 2nd.....one a 1:30 5 on 3 but they looked resigned to losing and unwilling to match their opponent's effort up to that point. They were bad 5 on 5 in last year's PO too but it was the meekness they went out with in the TB sweep that shocked me......they almost needed the 'riot squad' to separate the Panthers and Lightning the year before, many said it was the most vicious series in years. There was even a big bruhaha in a preseason game before last year started and Q resigned, the teams HATED each other.......a 'hall monitor' coulda kept the teams apart in TB's sweep,a much better team than the one that fought like hell for Q just bent over and took it. Hawk fans, who are much more knowledgeable than given credit for and like the players who were here the last 4 years or so have been on an emotional roller coaster. Go for it,adding 16M worth of uselessness/rebuild and announce a youth movement/go for it with the most expensive players in the league next year/tear it all down and trade the best young and most popular players nine months later in a painful but admittedly needed action and now dress a veteran/competitive team with all the 21-23yros sent down or given up on? Kurashev,Entwistle and Roos when he plays are all going on 24 and they're the youngest starters. Mr Tyler Johnson was busy playing for the best Org in hockey while all those guys in 'the room' last year were busy gettin' jerked around by JERKS the last 3-4 years. Of course 'the room' is better this year, the Org hired a NHL capable HC,I do wonder how last year's HC,captain and assistant captain feel about the comments though.......from a guy who was only in 'the room' for the first two months before he got hurt and is hurt again. The writer could use an editor or at least spell-check but this could have something to do with this year's attendance..... latestfinance.news/chicago-blackhawks-new-ticket-strategy-a-risk-reward-scheme-118855/
