I’m happy for OV that he got 800. But I’m super pissed it’s against the Hawks!!! better than 895... that'll be the one everyone remembers.

Well, that went as craptacular as expected... true enough, somehow made it to page 3 but the game and broadcast combined likely didn't merit 3 pages. that game sucked from start to finish. and i won't complain about TNT's crew again after listening to chelios and messier stumble their way through the game on ESPN.

OVs opening goal was his 136th to start a game, setting an NHL record. At least Mrazek is in the record books for something.

Not unless he gets conscripted!!! fat chance but it sure is a nice thought. : D While a part of me would love to see every record broken. I just don’t want Ovechkin to do it. He’s always been a bit of a shit head. Remember him shoving Soupy from behind? Plus there’s man many more like that. It seems he scores at his team’s expense. Plus his political ties makes me like him even less. I’d love to see someone break that and every record. Like seeing Yandle break the Ironman record, only to have it broken half a year later by Kessel. Two very deserving guys. Just don’t want OV to break records. He is 37, so I’m sure he’ll start breaking something, but it won’t be records!!!

I'm ok with him passing Howe but not Gretzky, 800 is a huge feat and I didn't mind seeing it happen in Chicago and it was awesome how the crowd responded. But yeah, I won't forget him shoving Campbell from behind at full speed and breaking his clavicle. OV can stay at #2 and put the Caps in a hole by chasing the great one. Hopefully Toews and Kane put the franchise first and go to a contender to help gain assets. The door will always be open and they can help the young guys or chase another cup, either way they're Blackhawk legends and much loved.

I hear ya I have never muted a game before and I have been watching hockey a long time. Just awful. As far as Ovi breaking record don’t care .I try to leave politics and personality out of it . End of the day 99 will always be the greatest I have seen followed by Super M . Just my 2 cents . Also I think Tman might be right I have never seen a team just so awful at passing the puck.

It was also cool of the Hawks Domi, Kaner and I assume Toews went and shook Ovi's hand after the game.

I didn't watch the game but did notice Seth was -4 and Mitchell was 0 (17 minutes of play). No doubt Seth was out there when Ovi was . . . .
