Hull has to be there, no? i suppose but i wouldn't have him that high, especially with mikita down the list at #47. if he isn't on there I'm guessing the voters are holding his off-ice behavior against him.

If you have not heard it, I highly recommend The Jeff Beck group's first album, Truth. It is truly outstanding - without question, the blueprint for Led Zeppelin among others. But their second album, Beck-ola, was just ok. Beck apparently was difficult to get along with and at times a bit of a tyrant. The band was supposed to be a Woodstock headliner, but Beck quit and headed home just before the festival. Many don't realize that those great Mercury recordings with Rod Stewart ( Every Picture Tells a Story, Gasoline Alley, Never a Dull Moment etc) featured the entire Jeff Beck group (minus the guitar virtuoso Beck) on every song - with certain members of the Faces and some sessional players from local folk bands backing them up on the occasional number. Ronnie Wood handled guitar and bass. Mickey Waller the drums. Stewart really was fronting two separate bands at the time, both featuring Ron Wood on guitar. Stewart put out nine albums between the Faces and his solo career in four years. No wonder he burned out and ran out of ideas towards the end of the decade. I have seen Rod Stewart interviewed many times. He remains the most down-to-earth and self-depreciating rock star of his generation. He also can be outrageously funny. Without question, he lived the rock-star life the way I would if I could - countless beautiful girls, Italian sports cars, destroyed hotel rooms, more than enough to drink without needing rehab........a true jet-setter who thoroughly enjoyed doing what he did and never took anything seriously. Nobody enjoyed it more than he did. But I have no interest in meeting him. I am quite sure he'd do something, or say something, to ruin my impression. No human being should get a statue. I know Rod the Mod's transition from rock and roll God to pop star Hot Rod was a disappointment for you but the guy achieved so much artistic success at such an early age, being at the forefront of R&R history.........going for commercial success later on is understandable. Unfortunately, his fans wanted 'Hot legs' and 'do you think I'm sexy' and he delivered and he cleaned up. 'Ooh La La' takes on so much more meaning as a guy gets old.......I'll tell ya that!LOL!

My mum loved listening to Rod before she died. She was into the Great American Songbook recordings. Stuff like Moon River, It Had to Be You, and As Time Goes By. I think he made 5 or so albums of them.
