Gotta say, the last few games have been pretty boring. I hope they get a bit more of a heartbeat as the year goes on. I’m half asleep!!!

foligno was just fine playing alongside CB but i think he's good enough to help drive another line.
hope fully this new first line continues to build chemistry.

Might have been Kurashev’s best game as a Hawk. He’s had more points in a game before but he was energized and involved all night. The line was good. ….it’s funny how some stats are kept, I saw hits and TKa’s etc. that never show up in the box.

Well shit rough job by #4 on the 3rd goal. not sure top line can stay together maybe a defensive forward in the group. Issac with another good game. Lots of work to do!

Rome wasn't built in a day, so yeah, lots of work to do. Guys like Bedard, Chevy, Vlassic, etc. are looking good and promising. Phillips looking like he belongs in the few games he's had, too. Beyond that? It's kinda a wasteland. Some guys are raw, some are has-beens. Rookies will make mistakes. I don't think anyone was expecting us to contend this year.

Gotta say, the last few games have been pretty boring. I hope they get a bit more of a heartbeat as the year goes on. I’m half asleep!!! That's what I said when I compared the Hawk/Pred game to the Canuck/Kraken game I saw last night. That latter game was really moving and involved a lot of skill whereas the Hawk/Pred game was plain boring. Tonight's game was a duplicate of yesterday's. Actually, neither the Sabres, nor the Preds have much to offer, so what does that have to say about the Hawks? It says that they had two chances this weekend to show that they could beat some very mediocre teams and they didn't. OK, it is still early in the rebuild and they aren't very good, but they also aren't very bad. They sure aren't better than the vast majority of the teams in the middle and it is not likely to get much better as the season goes on. OK, on to next year; or maybe skip that one and move on to two or three years from now. P.S. It does not help the Hawks to have let the worst power play team in the league, the Sabres, to score a power play goal when the Hawks are hanging on to possibly hustle one to victory. Can't let things like that happen, when a team doesn't have the skill to overcome it.

shoot the fucking puck, 98... While I agree. We still have to understand he’s 18.5 years old. His brain doesn’t work as fast as the average adult. Plus he’s probably a little timid at times. Getting this year outta the way for he and KK is a great thing. Rookie years are usually never that great. And both look very good. My only concern is the wall they’re gonna hit halfway through. This much travel and this much media and overall hockey is gonna take its toll at some point. But that’s part of the growing pains!!!

Reichel-Bedard-Kurashev - about time. Now keep them together for the next 10 games and let's see what they can do. Defense - shmefense - these 3 guys need to be offensive players first so let's use this season to develop the offensive side of their games before breaking them apart because they get scored on too frequently or end up chasing the puck too much. Winning games is not the primary objective this season - getting experience and development for Bedard and Reichel is the objective. Both of those guys are willing defenders so as long as their defensive effort is good - lets not be overconcerned about the results at this point in their growth process.

I remember the days when Savard used to get the puck and start up ice. It was always exciting to watch for what he was going to do with it. On the present team, there is no one that does what he did to provoke that kind of excitement, not even Bedard.

Also seems like if someone does head up ice with the puck they invariably pass it backwards to someone else so by the time the puck reaches the opposing blue line, it’s pretty hard to skate it in past the opposition who are all ready for it.

Kur is strong on his skates it took a little while, before if he was checked or if he was body checking he would usually end up on the ice not the case anymore.

If this is his level of play then he’s become a legit top 6 guy. He is where I was hoping Reichel would be this season and maybe we’ll begin to see that too.

Should mrazek go down i think we could be contending again. How do you mean? Mrazek has looked like a decent tender with no help (outside of Vlassic). If he goes down we got Soder Popinski (who has looked bad) and Der Commesso. That makes us worse, not better.
