lukas reichel with the outright lead in PPGs for the blackhawks with 2. CB, shevy, TJ, foligno and perry one each. still 2nd worst in the league (10.3%) ahead of only washington (8.5%). crazy that Washington is the worst after all these of Ovi hammering em home one after another. one thing I know for sure, with the weapon we have in 98, we should be scoring more goals on the pp. the entries have been shite for years now, all the way back to Q's last few seasons. but, beyond that, once we do have it in the zone, there is piss poor structure, little creativity, and frequently little movement. something has to give. time for a new voice and a new strategy. Just look at how Devils, Canuaks, Oilers & Pens move the puck around on the PP. Oilers and Canuaks have Hughes & McJesus, Petterson and Jack Hughes are pretty good too and Malkin, Crosby and now Karlsson with Pens, even Tampa with all those great players as well. We have the generational player, just need pieces around him, hope Korchinski is one of them, Jones not the answer.

That, and no one was finishing checks, just gliding away after poking in with their stick. They needed to get on the body from the start to slow them down. Couldn't even tell they played the night before. I honestly think the players are trying, yeah they could be faster on the puck, better forecheck. This has to be arguably the worst Hawks team since 1999 or so, the talent is just not there, the losses are mounting, players look overwhelmed and outmatched. I feel at times the opponents have taken there foot of the gas, some of these games could have been real ugly. Off to Peg and it doesn’t get any easier. KD has a ton of work to do. I said the same thing this year that I did when they had a decent start last year.....'you'll out-work opponents for only so long'. Detroit's a fast north-south team that gets up the ice and back in a hurry, they had the Rags down 2-1 half-way through the 3rd in NY Wednesday night before a disputed goal tied it up....w/o Larkin. Kudos to LR for having his under-manned team in it most games but there'll be some where the talent discrepancies are too much to overcome and it'll show.

I think the talent discrepancy is already showing. The lineup was subpar with Hall, Perry and AA on it, that combined with the constant mistakes from the kids which of course will happen during development. Majority of NHL clubs only start playing hard at around the 30 game mark and the better teams will start creating separation, the Hawks are in for a long season, development and maturation is great, but getting pounded night in night out will eventually take it toll on this young team.

Vader, Bedard can’t do it on his own, teams know he is the go to guy, they are boxing him out. The structure is one thing, but again guys like Reichel need to be better and you can’t expect miracles when you have guys like Foligno out there. Unlike the PP in Q’s day, this has more to do with talent or lack there off. I am not saying he has to do it on his own. I'm saying we have a piece there and should be doing everything we can to utilize it. obviously other pieces need to be added and agree 100% that talent is a big issue here. but, so is the coaching. the pp set up is garbage and has been since before LR arrived. he has allowed the same shitty pp to continue for far too long now. time for a new strategy. Vader, I understand your frustration, I am pretty sure majority of Hawks fans feel the same way you do. I can’t remember when the Hawks had a decent PP, but the shorties are killer.

And great to see your contributions here my friend. I think the fanbase swallows another rough year, even a critical, impatient old bastard like me knows another BIG haul is to be had next summer with two 1st's,three 2nd's and two 3rd's but irrelevance will have to end soon after IMO. Bedard's gonna run out of sticks otherwise.
