Flames playing their third in four nights, second of a back to back on the road against a rested Hawk team....
Another equalization payment from the schedule makers.
This is the only way the depleted Hawks can possibly win these days.

I believe we all know how bad this team is, thanks.

Considering half of these guys are like replacement players relishing their time before the strike is over, they did alright.

The AHL Battle of the Year. It was a great accomplishment for the Hawks and a shameful outcome for Calgary, altho the Flames ain't much better than an average AHL team. In any event, it was good to see the Hawk substitutes put it together and get the win for whatever it is worth. At a minimum, it must make the players feel better about themselves and that counts.

Reichel does not shoot the puck much. A pass first guy apparently. if the guy he is passing to is in the likely rebound spot, Reichel should take the shot IMHO. Hard along the ice.

I was out and about for the 3rd. The Chicago radio feed on the NHL app kept crashing, but the Calgary radio feed was fine. I assume it's because the person who makes sure the radio feeds are working right for the NHL app was busy molesting department store mannequins...but I digress. Anyhow, the Calgary radio announcers were giving praise to the 'hawks and their work ethic. Kinda matched my view of the 1st and 2nd. It was one of the games where they seemed to play hard, and got rewarded.

Well as I have always said good on the boys for the win. I dont care if they played the last 4 nights Flames have played this way all year they dont wanna work. Also our new forward can barley skate I understand putting a body in there but good grief. With everything Blackwell has been through great to see him playing this way. Packed house I would assume the NHL does Hawks a favor next year and gives them Half of there home games on weekend. I expect things to get a lot rougher lets enjoy this one!

Would it be wrong to think that next year when Korchinski is 20 he needs to go to Rockford and spend a year learning how to play defense? Didn’t do anything but help Vlasic. Korch's D play his rookie year is not far off from Keith's his rookie year. He does need to learn better D, that's a given. But given the lack of competent D men on the ice not named Vlassic, I'm not sure how much a stint in Rockford would help We have been over this before Lord I just disagree Kors D play is miles off of what Duncans was. Dunc had some struggles 05-06 but his play was not that bad. Also he got stuck with Accion half the time who was dog shit after the rule changes. But lets all remember I think Dunc was 22 or 23.

Who amongst us hasn't fondled....anyways, it seems that when Hawks lose their star players they come together as a team and perform well beyond their very modest abilities. This was certainly the case in this game.

I think he was. Not Runblad bad, but bad. Plus, Korch has been paired with Murphy, and that's like being paired with Augroin...or more like Cullimore to be honest. Keith, however, got better by any standard. The onus is on Korch to become better, too, if not Keith level (which is a very high mark), then enough not not shoot the team in the foot.

The Hawks next game will be their 5th game in 8 days, their opponent is well rested playing their 3rd in 8 days. If the Hawks get lucky against the Oilers I'm curious what your excuse will be.
