Keith was one of, if not the, best D man we ever had. That being said his play on the PP, especially later on, wasnt indicative of the rest of his play. For one, Leddy was better at bringing the puck in and distributing it on the PP. For another my point still stands about Keith: he'd hold onto the puck too long and the lanes would close with one of a few things happening: right into the shins of the opposition, missing the net, or missing the pass. That's not indicative of his overall game, keep that in mind. It's like saying Kane had issues defensively; it doesn't take away from all of the great stuff he did for us. Granted, two things Jones should look at Keith's highlight reels on the PP are: Keeping the puck in at the blue line. Getting back when the play gets behind him and try to make it hard for the opposition to score shorthanded. Credit where credit is due; and that's why Keith was a 2-way D-man and Jones is not. Can’t forget about Seabrook, third in Hawk history with 38 ppg’s, behind the tandem of Wilson (80) and Murray (48). Seabrook actually had a better PP points ratio than Keith per 60 minutes. Yup early on before they went to 4 forwards he would have the shot from the half wall. Big part of the PP in early days
