ZZZZZZ.... looks like seattle's. not sure why they're going with "hockey club" for their first season. how hard is it to decide on a name? agree. no idea why they couldn't figure this out, seems like plenty of time to decide... upon review, i'm guessing jersey sales might play a part in this. |

My guess is they really haven’t gotten a good response of the names. They’ll review them and look for a new name. They probably regret saying they’d choose from the shit turd pile of names they put forth!!!

You know those very humbling times where you're certain there'll be no way a certain option will be brought to fruition, only to find out you were completely wrong? When I first saw that list, I said to myself, "okay, there's no fucking way they're going with Hockey Club. No way in hell."
Anyways, yeah horrible name. Very uninspired design/logo. It's almost as if they decided, "you know what, let's create the most generic name and design we can possibly think of." I just don't get it, but whatever, Utah sucks in general anyway, so maybe it's fitting, lol.

From what I read that was their plan. Still, cheap way out in my opinion. I think EVERYONE was like, "anything but Utah HC." |

utah plays their first ever nhl regular season game at home against chicago, october 8th.
on a sidenote, looks like chicago will start the season on a bit of a road trip.

I heard on Missing Curfew the other day that the reason why they didn’t pick a name is because of copyrights. A lot of the names have copyrights and they’d have to buy them out. So they’re gonna wait till next year and make it private so no one can sneak under them and copy right it.
So hopefully they also realized all those names sucked and go with a much better name!!!

The Alex Meruelo era is officially over. According to a report by PHNX Sports’ Craig Morgan on Wednesday, NHL deputy commissioner Bill Daly confirmed that the former Arizona Coyotes owner has relinquished his rights to the franchise.
As for the future of hockey in the desert, Bettman said at the NHL’s Board of Governors meetings it is not something the NHL is focused on. I guess one less travel destination for Hawks fans in the winter months.
