great run by the caps to make the playoffs, but I have serious doubts their goaltenders wins them more than one game.

www.nhl.com/capitals/video/topic/locker-room/dylan-strome-april-18-6351173146112First PO appearance for the former and unwanted Hawks center. His first season in Washington resulted in a much-deserved contract extension last year, and that resulted in more career highs in goals,ice-time,FO% and he led his team in over-all scoring this year. With the losses of Backstrom and Kuznetsov, the Capitols simply don't make the PO's without Dylan Strome this year......he was their most consistant player throughout the season. Tied for his team's lead in GWG's and he scored 3 of his team's 4 OTG's! Ovi and Carlson both rounded into form over the 2nd half,a few kids have assimilated nicely,Oshi's back skating 18mins a game and don't sleep on Charlie Lindgren. The Caps went 4-1-0 and allowed only 7 goals over their most important, five game stretch all year to make it. The Rags were a first round out last year to a team that missed this year...........a seven game series wouldn't surprise me one bit.

Who doesn't want to see a rempe and wilson fight. I didn't think they'd even play rempe but i'm wrong-O again. Of course he scores in his first p/o game. Edit: rempe played just over 8 minutes. 3 hits, 2 shots...finished a tidy +2. Ovi had 0 shots and finished a -1.

If my wish comes true, the Rangers win and Ovi is held goalless the entire series.

that was a lovely stick to the nuts. the young ranger (turned 22 in february) isn't having any of wilson's shit.
caps keeping it close but ovi's 1 shot in 2 games isn't helping their cause.

kudos to TVR for getting up after that hit. yeah, he's got to be more aware but i hope his teammates tried to warn him. Maybe charging, maybe boarding, but not interference, if one compares that hit to all the ones that don't get called? I have often wondered what the fuck is interference? Envision this common situation-----offensive player is traveling up ice with the puck and he passes it off to his side to a teammate. Five or six seconds after passing the puck he is nailed by a dman. How can that not be interference? But, that is almost never called. Here, Rumpe, or the whatever the fuck is his name, nailed TVR one second after TVR got rid of the puck and they call interference. So, just what is interference as determined on the ice, not by the terms of the rule in the rulebook. Why would a hit five seconds after the puck carrier gets rid of the puck not be interference, but nailing a guy one second after the puck is passed gets called? The nhl should get its shit together when it comes to calling the interference penalty.

If my wish comes true, the Rangers win and Ovi is held goalless the entire series. 0 goals, 0 assists, -2 and just 5 shots in 4 games against the rags despite being 2nd among the caps forwards in ice time. (4 of those shots came in game 3) maybe ovi blew his wad in the regular season chasing gretzky's record. anyways...not all ovi's fault. the cap's leading goal scorer in the series was famed defenseman martin fehervary with 2 goals. 5 others had just one goal.

I’m still hopeful that OV will net a whopping 12 goals next year. I feel his decline is inevitable. Father Time is still undefeated. Ailments will slow him down. I just hope it’s enough to stall him. My reasons are simple. The guy and that franchise could care less about winning or putting a good product on the ice. They care about the record. And I can see for one season. Maybe two. But gawd dam, their last 4-5 years have been nothing but give OV the puck and hope he scores. Now I hope he doesn’t anymore.
Usually I love to be able to live to see records broken. But I don’t care for this one. The guy blatantly doesn’t play defense. He’s lazy out there. And just shoots instead of making the right play. How does that teach the young kids on that team? How is being selfish being a leader? I for one hope he fails!!!

Sure, they got swept, but thought they played hard and Rangers power play is just too good. Detroit, Buffalo, New Jersey all have more talent than Caps, but they are at golf course right now.

With the Caps being swept they now have the 17th first round slot. Still pulling for VGK to take out Stars and then advance into WCF. Hopefully Cats take out Bolts in game 5. Islanders will soon have the 18th first round slot.

He was also helping his team successfully chase a PO spot to be fair and was pretty good down the stretch. It's like we saw three different players this year,he looked feeble the first half and himself the 2nd half,I thought he found his form heading into the PO's but he looked feeble again.

He just waits at the blue line and doesn't even bother to chase a dump or forecheck. Burke is also the only I've heard who has predicted Ovi won't pass the record. I hope he's right and I respect Burke for going against the grain a bit when it comes to Ovi-love.

I don’t like the way he’s going about this, or the Caps. It’s very egregious in my eyes. Good for Burke. I’ll have to look that up!!!
