That sucks hearing Shaws on the long term, I wish he played like last season and didn't hit so much and fight this season, but that's in his nature, especially playing on home ice in Chicago. Nice to see another righty on D, hopefully they actually play him. Maybe this means Gus and or Koekkoek is gone 🤞 This move leaves eight D-man on the roster not counting Keith,if they don't intend to make a trade.....what do they intend? Burning a year of Boqvist's ELC makes no sense unless someone is moved. At this point, with the injury bug biting them at forward and clearly no depth in the organization to help, I wouldn’t be surprised if they were considering moving Gus up to forward. Nothing can shock me anymore with this clown show going on 🤷🏻♂️ |

I skipped that article earlier today because it ain't my favorite subject but I read it three times after I noticed gt link it and again when I saw your post and I'm yet to see anything about him being sent back down but I'm old!LOL!!! I'll never understand why they think so highly of a small 6th round pick who looks terrible in the NHL. And he's now in his mid 20's 🙄

His call up did nothing but separate a Dach,Smith,Carp line that was startin' to play pretty well or at least effectively. |

But why should he have done better? He's a skinny 6th round pick who only put up good numbers in college his last couple years. He has 5" on Debrincat but they weigh the same. |

Just going by his numbers in the AHL, seems like he should have done better. But he can't. I am more optimistic about Hagel. A few times that I've seen him play, he seems to have the drive to succeed. |

To blame JC for this to me is insane. The guy went to Europe to learn his craft. Took a relegated team and within 2 years brought them back in to the elite league. The Hawks lure him back to the NHL to coach the Rockford team which was abysmal. Took that team within a year to 4th place and the semi-finals of the AHL playoffs. Now the crap begins for him here. Took a team that for a year earlier was beginning to drown itself. Started badly last season and they fired Q. They bring up JC to a team already in disarray and has to learn what this team has. Gets them to go with a different system and they actually improved in the 2nd half of the season due to in reality a very good PP led by Kane, D-cat and even Gus. So what does this ORG do? They go out and get slower D-men, de Haan and Maatta, and Seabs and Keith lose another step in their game. And don't get us started on how bad Gus is on defense as well as passing. My original thoughts when JC was hired that the Hawks were finally going after the successful model that other teams use. The head coach and minor league coach work together to formulate a system together so that when call ups happen they are on the same page. Makes it easier for the young players. Now JC should have had at least 3-5 years at Rockford or at least brought up to be an assistant coach till when Q decides to retire and JC can slide right in with no interruptions in play. So to me this ALL falls on SB and McDonothing. Now JC is going to be the fall guy for SB in all this. |
