Well, I feel like I'm always the one defending hits like this, but to me, this was a valid call -- and that's coming from someone who is rooting for the Schmucks and who has been an extreme critic of the refereeing this playoff year. You can't jump up and deliver a hit under any circumstances, including a reverse hit. That's extremely dangerous.
Anyways, I'm having a blast watching the Oil falter again. I hope Van takes them down. Nice to see Big Z flourishing there too.

If they're going to give him a penalty for leaving his feet, fine, but how can he be called for charging when he was standing still? But I'm also having a blast watching the Coilers falter. I'm working nights doing spring clean up for the city of Edmonton, the chatter on the radio is unbearable, except when Vancouver tied it at 2, then when I said over the radio that Edmonton lost not one person said anything. The silence was blissful.

I think that reasonable minds can disagree on this call, but I don't have a problem with the call. I am rooting for the Nucks -- West Coast fealty'n all -- and I so enjoyed watching the Oil lose in the last 30 seconds.

Hah, yeah here's hoping they don't riot if they get bounced.

If the Oilers lose this. It may be time to look to another plan. Ask the dynamic duo if they’d like to go elsewhere and accommodate trades. You simply cannot pay players who haven’t won.
How could you even dream about re-signing Draisaitl and McDavid at 14 million each? Even if the cap ends up 92 million soon, that’s almost 30% of your cap on 2 players. Not looking good for them.
The only thing that would help would be if they could find a taker for Nurse. He’s a decent NHL dman. But he’s clearly not a 9.25 million dman. I would see if I could trade him before any of his clauses kick in soon. That’ll free up some money. Then I’d sweeten the deal to trade Campbell. With the cap going up 5 million, and having 14 million from the two mentioned. They could have 19 million to spend. If they won’t go that route. It’s time to blow her up and move on. It’ll be the exact same thing for the next 6-7 years!!!

I think we all know there is a 0% chance they trade McDavid. highly doubt Draisaitl either. you ain't lying about Nurse and Campbell, though. they really need someone to take those anchors off their hands and they'll need to be creative and lucky to do so...

I know. It looks sad there. I just think they could land enough assets from them to rebuild on the fly. Get a 1st overall in the next 2 years, plus all those assets. And they’ll be back on their feet in no time!!!

oilers have allowed just 6 sog through the first 30+ minutes of the game. nothing tightens up a team's defence more than having a dodgy goalie between the pipes.
and what about bouchard? up to 6 goals and 12 assists in 10 1/2 games. currently a shiny +9.

he hasn't played in nearly a month.
i bet he does, if indeed demko's ready to goi.
edit: tocchet says demko won't start game 7.

likely no group happier to see this go to 7 than dallas.
will we see kane fight zadorov next game? if i was zadorov i'd try and avoid it. he's big and strong but if i recall...not that great of a fighter. i think kane would clean his clock.

beautiful shot and a beautiful save and a great camera angle.
not sure how skinner could've seen that puck. maybe just going on instinct.

Nice choke job by the Canucks, but it was on Oiler ice. Hopefully, Van can get to the coast and win it all.

Is it because most here do not like the Oilers and want Vancouver to win, just curious why do you think it is a choke job.

Biggest diver in the game. Yeah he can score but he spends a lot of time auditioning for a second career in dinner theatre.

Biggest diver in the game. Yeah he can score but he spends a lot of time auditioning for a second career in dinner theatre. i think friedman makes a good point when he said the refs got to just start calling embellishment penalties as the sole penalty. easier said than done. i would imagine if you polled the refs, many would say the embellishment penalty is the hardest to call. edit: instead of saying embellishment is the hardest penalty for a referee to call, i should say it's the penalty referees are most hesitant to call.

I know 1 was overturned cant remember the game
