There’s a massive amount of turnover. Like any team, it’ll take some time to gel. If this keeps going until January. Then there’s cause for concern. I think they’ll get her going in the right direction!!! It'll help when they get Levshunov, he must've broken his foot because no way he's out this long with a bruise. Also doesn't help with Phillips sitting in Chicago. The Hogs had King, Fitzgerald, and Felix on D last night, Del Mastro, Korchinski, and Crevier need better help back there.

My buddy Owen was telling me he may be done after this year. OHL is paying for his University so he said he may go to teachers college instead of Europe. But we’ll see!!!

Talking to someone about refusing an offer to play with the Red Deer Rebels to stay in Junior A, hoping for a Div. 1 offer. Didn't get a full ride so he went into the trades, he's happy. Have to realize you can't chase a dream forever.

On Nov. 2nd, Rockford is having "Dia De Los Muertos" night. As you could guess, they have a special jersey. You can see the jersey on the left. It's not as bad as some they've had in the past. They're also giving away a 'Hammy Sugar Skull Bobblehead" to the first 2,500 fans. Just imagine how far traffic will be backed up for a chance to get one of these. icehogs.com/news/icehogs-to-host-annual-day-of-the-dead-night-saturday-nov-2Here's the bobblehead. It was on ebay, so scroll down a little ways. And notice the price; just for a bobblehead. www.ebay.com/itm/225842459294

Wonder if they would have a dylan sikura one for 1/2 price?

Hogs were down 2-0 after the first but scored three straight, in 5mins, in the second.
Hayes with his first AHL goal, Savoie and Del Mastro banging around the front of the net and Hayes found the loose puck.
Then Fitzgerald with a nice one timer off a bank from Levshunov, Arty with his first pro point. Savoie with the secondary assist.
Third goal was scored 7sec into a PP, Seney with a nice pass to Guttman, Korchinski with the second assist.

Hogs were outplaying the Moose in the first and looking good on a double minor PP but Guttman with a turnover and bad defensive play and he screened Weekes.
But late in the period while on the PK Ludwinski with a perfect flip to send in Savoie who made a sweet fake with a leg kick and went backhand and in. 1g-2a for Savoie in 4 periods vs Manitoba. The Hogs new play by play guy said he reminds him of Shaw, yes he does, heavier though.
Savoie is being interviewed between periods and he has a little lisp, and with that dirty stache he seems very punchable lol a guy you love on your team.

Hogs outplayed the Moose but ran into a hot goalie.
Levshunov looked a little tired and made a couple mistakes, bound to happen when he hasn't played in a while and it's back to back games. But he still looked good and created chances.
Same story as the Hawks, the pp was pathetic. Full 4min PP and a Guttman turnover and screen cost them a shorty. 5min pp in the 3rd and Seney turned it over a few times and the Moose had better chances.
Weekes wasn't to blame for this loss, even though he shouldn't have started in back to back games like Mrazek.
Maybe it's time for new coaches at both levels.

I feel we need 20 games at both levels to really see what’s what. Maybe even 30 games. Lot of turnover here. I feel this is the change that was coming for a while. Gotta give it some time to get moving. If we’re into January, and both teams are hurting. Then I would agree that maybe it’s time to look for much better coaches!!!

This has been the big problem for more than a decade, stretching back into the Stan Bowman days where the general manager always cut ruthlessly from the bottom to fit under the cap. Teams need consistency and coherence. You can't turn over half a roster every year and be successful. My feeling is that the team's best course of action right now is to stand pat until the trade deadline. Leave everyone where they are. Don't promote rookies unless there is an injury. No firing of coaches. At the deadline, you attempt to move out only those players on the last year of deals (Hall, Martinez, Donato, AA, Smith, Maroon, and Anderson). Murphy and Brodie stay unless there is a very strong offer on the table. You need some roster space for the rookies next year, but you should never be turning over more than a 1/3 of the roster in any given year.

His deal has one year left at 4.4. He’s playing better than ever. His value will be great to a team like Winnipeg or Colorado etc. Hawks more than likely get a 1st and a prospect for him if they retain half. He’s 32 and I’d rather re-sign Martinez to a 1 year 3 million deal. Plus we have to take into account the Hawks salary cap. Especially after next season. Including this year, Hawks lose Hall, AA, Maroon, Martinez, Brossoit, Mrazek, Anderson, Dicky, Donato, Foligno, Mikheyev, Brodie and Craig Smith. So they lose about 5 this year and 8 next year. Pretty much all the salary. I suspect that the Hawks will re-sign a few of those guys. Dicky will be one. Maybe even Mikheyev. I just don’t see 13 kids coming in. I could also see the Hawks going after a few more prominent free agents. The mass turnover has to come to an end soon. I don’t like the looks of this right now. The turnover and results will be a lethal combination. Kids will have trouble dealing with the instability!!!

I'm typically a very patient and optimistic person but there's something about Sorensen I don't like and his PP looks a lot like the Blackhawks, which makes sense because it should mirror their NHL team. And I get that both teams had a lot of turnover, Rockford with lots of guys turning pro and Chicago having a lot of 1yr deals to fill spots till the young guys are ready, so yes they should wait at least 20gms, but King needs to go considering he runs the offense in Chicago, he shouldn't have been kept when Luke was brought in.

Sorensen was Chicago/Rockfords development coach from 2014 to 18, not the best time for development. Then he's Rockfords assistant for 3yrs before becoming the head coach.
When KD took over he cleaned house, yet Sorensen and King are still here, they should've been let go too.

This why I said they got too many vets and reduced the number of the young guys on the team. Like you said, the Hawks will lose about half the team in the next 2 years and then the young kids will come up. Was this just to win a couple more games than last year. I can see TT to help Bedard and Maroon to add toughness where there wasn't any. But we didn't need Martinez and/or Brodie I think. Could have just 2 more more of our supposed young D-corp develop on the big club. But they know more than I do on if the kids are ready or need that 1-2 years in Rockford.

Replace with Seabs, Toews and Bolland as skills and development coaches. Who better to teach Bedard FO's than Toews and Bolland to help toughen him up.

Could have just 2 more more of our supposed young D-corp develop on the big club. But they know more than I do on if the kids are ready or need that 1-2 years in Rockford. There's little chance that 23yro D prospects Phillips and Crevier see enough game action with the big club to get much of a handle on their development levels before very important decisions have to be made on both next summer. With the number of younger D prospect ahead of the two on the depth chart and the number of even younger D prospects nippin' at their heels, both could be moved-out for next to nothing. I guess all teams have an over abundance at one position or another at times, but the unusually high number of 1st-3rd round picks alone the last three years could make it tough to assess/develop every one properly.....for any Org. I'm good with most of the kids at Rockford this year, but I am not sure if most of those kids are........If they are,I doubt they'll be again next year. I never want to rush teenagers into the league and I don't mind even 1st rounders getting a few years to 'season',but they'll be nine forwards taken in the first 4 rounds and three D-men who'll be 20 or older next year. That's not counting Bedard (19),Reichel (22),Vlasic (23),Kaiser (22) or Allan(21) since they're already up or the two later round 23yros Phillips and Crevier. The team also has the surplus of one 1st and three 2nd round picks the next two drafts, since it'll be hard to get em all enough assessment/development,why not consolidate some of this surplus of prospects and picks into a good young forward or two in their early twenties? The Org will have a better idea of where most of the kids will fit and what the remaining needs will be next summer.......or at least they BETTER have! With all of the acquisitions the last two summers, the FO has made no effort to pursue a good, young player and that'll have to change IMO.

Bob, that’s exactly it. If the right player is out there. Let this years 1st rounder go for him. Let’s say the Ducks are looking to deal McTavish for example. I’m not saying they are, but for this scenario let’s say they are. Give up this years first which will probably be a top 10 and the second 1st. Hawks have enough prospects. Need that good #2 center. McTavish would be that.
Why would Anaheim do that? Well, they’ve got Leo Carlsson, and Brett Senecke. One of them have to be 3rd liner, and I believe Verbeek doesn’t care much for the last regimes picks. So I see a few getting dealt including Zegras. McTavish would be worth giving up that much for. Then Nazar could be better off on wing with Bedard. Need a passer and a shooter on the same line.
Anyways, there are always options. Let’s hope he’s less horny on the draft floor and more sexy on the trade front!!!

So far it's been a good night for prospects: Nazar, Hayes and Slaggert have the goals and Dach has 2 assists; and Commesso pitching a shutout.
Something else nice to see was Levshunov was leading the team in SOG with 4, part way into the 3rd.
