CSN Chicago ran this documentary after showing all the 'W' from the run...….very enjoyable! I believe there's a doc on all three glorious seasons.... www.youtube.com/watch?v=R_pqN7Xf2_Qwow. it's over 6 years old. can't believe i haven't seen it. i'm going to enjoy this....thnx for posting it. It was branded 'Stanley cup films' and I'm pretty sure there's one made about every cup champ.

gary larson (the far side) is making new comic strips for the first time since jan. 1 1995. he reminds me of "the onion". either you piss yourself laughing or it just isn't your type of humor. anyways....maybe he realized some of us needed a laugh these days... hard to pick any favorites...there were so many.

Good news and bad news.
Found a Godzilla DVD box set at Wal-Mart the other week that had all the TOHO Godzilla movies for $240.00
Wife said if you buy that you'll be sleeping outside with it. You have like 25 of them already so what you wanna spend $240.00 for like the 10 you don't have?😂
Well yeah but found the Shin Godzilla movie from 2016 and got that for $5.00 we both walked out as happy humans.
Now if they can only decide on when the hell they are going to finally release Godzilla vs. Kong I'll be over the moon!

Ok still haven't gotten the Godzilla box set but had to go to Best Buy to get a new water filter for the ice maker/water dispenser which next time I'll just forego with a new fridge. These things cost $50.00 a pop and only last about 6 months. But I found the complete 6 season box set of Longmire for $69.00 which the wife had no problem with me buying because she loves that show also. If you don't know Longmire it's on Netflix and kinda like a new age Western like Yellowstone.

Generally have had success at getting pretty good pricing. And I see some of the outrageous prices some try to get for movies from years ago (not even classic movies, just ones I liked). One seller lists for like $6.99 and another has the same movie for $45.00 or more. I don't care how much I liked the movie, I'm not paying $45.00 for a 2 hour or less movie.
I am a huge fan of the 1966 - 1971 soap opera Dark Shadows. Before they came out with a box set that included all DVD's (the box is in the shape of a coffin) I had to buy individual box sets that included 4 DVD's each having 2 weeks of shows. The box sets retailed for $69.00 each, but I found most thru finderscheapers for at least half that cost. There are 32 box sets and I bought them over the course of several years. I paid over $900.00 for the entire set. Paying retail would have cost me $2,208.00. Now the coffin set retails in the $350.00.
Anyway the point of this post is check out finderscheapers and see if you can find the box set there at a better price!

Thanks but if you know Wal-mart they are exclusive to a lot of things. I'll give TVs as an example. You can find a Sony TV that seems exact at Best Buy and Wal-Mart but there is always a subtle difference and why it can never be price matched. Having been a freight relocation engineer for 30 years and picking up from many different distributors I found out Wal-mart has their own little line of products. That and before a corporation can even get in the door they need to give Wal-Mart a discount better than any other major chain. But thanks for that site maybe I can find SOA and Breaking Bad complete box sets. And Barnabas Collins? Wow use to run home from grade school to catch Dark Shadows.😂

I'm having a wife raffle!
She has lost her friggin mind. She knows we are selling the house in a year and a half and now she wants me to redo the master bath. New floor, vanities, lights, mirrors, toilet etc... I told her I'll just lower the price and let them design it their way. Nope. Guess it's because my son is moving to Atlanta for a bit I've gotten rid of all his crap out of the utility room. I'm thinking finally a clean utility room. Wrong. We went and got the flooring yesterday. Next week the vanities. The week after other crap when she finally figures out what the hell she likes so now it's become a storage room.
Thank God I have 2 other bathrooms to use 1 I already remodeled. And now the kid gone and the wife at work I'll have some peace to get this done.
So this is how the raffle will work. I'll give you $5.00 and put your name in a hat. I'll then pull the winners name and you WIN !!!!
Who wants to enter up first?

I’d rather have soap on the rope break in a NY state prison shower then have a wife, and I have one!!!

lot's of fishermen (and maybe a fisherwoman or 2) on the boards so i'll just plunk this here. my brother's been sturgeon fishing 3 or 4 times in B.C., said it's a blast. i don't think he's caught any monsters like what's in these pics, though. nice to see DK enjoying life with his boy.

boy....talk about muscle memory. pretty amazing. Alzheimer's is a horrible affliction but this little clip is more beautiful than horrible.
my dad had alzheimer's, well....they called it dementia but it's all the same thing to me. my mom had to finally put him in the old folk's home. it was tough at first...you could carry on a pretty good convo most days but it was obvious he had forgotten even his own family but he loved to chat all his life whether he knew you or not. Thankfully he was very well looked after, and had a good appetite right to the end. it was what it was and my dad didn't seem too bothered about it because he didn't know any different at that point. anyways, my mom was a bit of an artist and there was a big room in the old folks home where the TV was and everyone congregated, the staff there asked my mom if she could paint a mural on one of the big walls. she said no prob so my mom and another lady spent i guess about a couple weeks painting this mural which was a country/farm scene. my dad was born in 1911 so it was all horses and steam power for farm equipment when he was a kid, and most of the old people there in the home were of the same generation and came from farming communitees and backgrounds. the picture was huge...from what i recall there was a church, a schoolhouse, barefoot kids and dogs playing, and a bunch of people taking their crops off. in those days you threw the sheaves (tied bundles) of cut grain into the back of a wagon and the horses pulled the wagon to the thrashing machine. there the sheaves were tossed into this thrasher and the straw and chaff was seperated from the grain. at this point in his life, my dad's periods of lucidity were pretty much gone. when this mural was done, my dad was sitting in his wheelchair with my mom beside him looking at the mural and he said "it would be too wet to thrash." my mom asked "why do you say that?" he said "the wheel ruts behind the wagons were too deep, they must have had some rain." (those sheaves had to be thoroughly dry to thrash, otherwise it'd be "too tough" as my dad used to say). my mom said she could only nod and smile because he was right. the old boy was a farmer right to the end. : )

Yesterday marked the 50th anniversary to the most awesome event in the history of the State of Oregon...where the Oregon Highway department (now ODOT) attempted to dispose of a dead whale which washed up on the beach with a half a ton of dynamite.
The Oregon Historical Society blessed us with remastering the raw footage into 4k.
I share this with you all to enjoy:

Tried to figure out how to show this story but could only provide a link. Amazing story of a young man with down syndrome who finished a half iron man but wasn't satisfied with that. So he completed a full iron man. His motto is to get just 1% better every day.
I also loved a quote I heard from him prior to the full Iron Man competition, when asked what it would mean.......he said that when he crosses the finish line, all the women that he could meet (sorry, can't remember the exact quote, but he has quite the sense of humor and said it in a somewhat humorous way).
Now this is as good a feel good story as there is!
