Bulls have been struggling against the top teams in the league, but are without 2 of their best defenders in Ball and Caruso, along with their young 1st round pick from last season in Williams. All 3 are expected back at some point. So although they've been getting beat by some of the best teams, I think they are built to do well come playoff time.

The Bulls were 10 under last year and 20 under the year before and the Bengals were 4-12 the year before they made the SB......so much for the drawn-out painful rebuild! In the meantime, we got the Bears and Hawks and their kids runnin things into the GROUND.

All the trades they made last season to gut their team were lower tier minor leaguers, many teenagers, who may or may not be good.

I don't know if I hate an ownership group more than these bastards, they got everything they wanted and they gutted their team anyway. The era of baseball seen on Chicagos's northside from 2015-2021 was unparalleled in team history, the Cubs had won ONE PO series in modern PO history before Theo brought in a group of great, champions.

Trust me, I couldn't agree with you more. Ricketts kept saying in order to compete for the top free agents, he needed scoreboards for revenue, the hotel across the street, and his own TV network. Once he got all 3, he started crying poor, telling Theo to cut the payroll and not sign any top free agents. Then he turns around and blames what's left of the core for not carrying the crap they brought in and disbanded the team.
Here's why they traded for teenagers. If, and that's a big IF, any of them pan out, they won't make it to the majors for at least 4 to 6 years. Then they are under the arbitration control for at least 3 or 4 more. So in the end, he bought himself a decade of cheap players. I stopped watching them completely right after the trade deadline when Rizzo, Bryant, Baez, and Kimbrell were all traded. But the writing was on the wall in Spring Training when they didn't tender a contract to Schwarber, and traded the runner up in Cy Young to San Diego, along with the back up catcher, and got a crap pitcher and bunch of prospects back, none of which were in San Diego's top 7 best.

That's it in a nutshell my friend with the exception of one thing,Theo walked away before the great sell off happened.....he saw what was coming.

DeMar DeRozan dropped a PO career high 41 on the defending champs last night to even up the series after poor shooting let game one slip away. Not expecting a miracle, just more well coached efforts...............ya never know.

Middleton out for the rest of the series, too. it would be great to knock a aron and his team out of the playoffs for once.. Not just Rogers, who looks idiotic with his man bun, but the bastard who put Alex Caruso out for months with a vicious foul, Grayson Allen who laughed with his teammates while Caruso was on the floor and only got a 1 game suspension. Every time he's on the court I wish someone would clean his clock. It won't be as satisfying, but it would help seeing the Bucks walk off the court after losing the series.
And if Allen ever gets his, from any team in the league, I'll enjoy laughing about the fact he was hurt, simply because he didn't care who he hurt, or how bad he hurt them. The punk has a reputation going back to his college days.

Not sure if the loss of Lonzo Ball caused this team to become this bad, but I'll be honest, I didn't expect them to win even one game against anyone they were going to meet in the playoffs. And now from the sounds of it, they could be without Caruso and Levine for game 5.
What I've noticed this year, especially in the playoffs, is Levine disappearing more and more. I know he's been playing with knee pain, not sure if that's what caused him backing away from even getting the ball or not. He's averaging 19 points in the playoff games, but isn't getting the amount of touches you'd expect to see of one of the big 3. Won't be surprised at all if the Bulls announce he will be having knee surgery shortly after the season ends. And if I'm correct, he's a free agent so not sure he comes back.
Bulls issues are they are too small. Nobody who consistently rebound, both on the offensive and defensive boards. And I actually hate the way the game is played now with all the 3 point shots. Nobody wants to work for points when it's so much easier to launch a 3 pointer. The Bulls took the fewest in 3's, but they still take them at the worst possible times. It's a reason I love DeRosen, he thrives off the inside game. Bulls offseason has to address getting bigger, because even if Ball is healthy, they don't have the size to compete against true contenders. They were fun to watch early in the season, but they were beating the teams they should beat. But next to nothing against teams like the Bucks, Celtics, 76'ers, etc. That's got to change to have a chance at a championship. Guessing Wednesday's game will be the season Finale, and with the Hawks last home game Wednesday as well, the UC will be melting ice and putting away the basketball floor for another season.

Kudos to a team that finished 20 under two years ago and 10 under last year for over-achieving during the regular season and more so up in Milwaukee for the first two games of the series that could have both been W's........against the Champs!
The 2nd half of the season was disappointing and the last two PO games even worse but I like the new 'brain trust' and the weaknesses have been laid bare, like the size and rebounding issues Phil mentioned. Decisions have to be made on some players but size IS needed and LaVine's first shot at the PO's was just okay IMO.
If a team has a center who plays an outside game like Vuc,then you dam sure better have a power forward who can control the boards and play D......the team has NO answer for the 'Greek Freak' once he gets goin' but who does?
Young players like Ayo,White,Williams and Ball all would have to improve substantially but all look capable.

No surprise, the Bulls season came to an end last night. They got blown out in the series, actually shocked they won a game. It was a nice season to see them succeed to a degree, but this team as constructed is nowhere near a championship caliber club. They are going to have to make quite a few changes. As mentioned before, the Bulls need legit rebounders and size. I don't know if that means trades or free agents, drafting a big who will take several years to develop won't help this club in the next year or two. I had such high hopes with the way they played to start the season, but injuries started wreaking havoc, and the lack of size really became noticeable as the season went on.
