While you all got to watch the Hawks v. the Avs, which I couldn't see, I got to watch the Kraken visit Beantown where the Bruins WERE undefeated. The Kraken are on a East Coast road trip that ends Saturday in Chicago. They came into Boston with a 5-0 record on this road trip, including a victory over the Loafs. Well, prior to tonight's game, the Bruins were undefeated at home. No more!!! The Kraken whooped them 3-0 and looked very good doing it with Martin Jones getting the shutout. Maybe this was a preview of the Cup final. The Kraken is looking really good this year, unlike that team in Chicago. We'll see what happens Saturday night, but I sincerely doubt the Hawks will put a blemish on the Kraken road trip record.

There's nothing spectacular on the score-sheet about this spectacular win, but's that's the Kraken! SOG's were close,0/3 on the PP,no Kraken player had more than a point and their 33yro journeyman goaltender shut-out Boston at home for his 20th win in 27 starts.........898SV% be dammed.
There's a LOT of structure and discipline in what Francis and Hakstol have created quickly from very little,I wonder if it's sustainable but it looks real.

As I started watching the game it appeared that Boston had the better chances and were first to the puck more often. But, as the game went on, I could say that the Kraken was playing the Bruins very evenly and had what appeared to be an equal amount of skill on the ice. I would still think the Bruins would win a seven game series, but congrats to the Seattle squad for getting their shit together so quickly. Maybe these new franchises got better players than what would think they would get from the ones that were discarded by the other teams. Meanwhile, now the Hawks are trying desperately to avoid getting the #1 pick. Maybe their front office told Richardson they should be shooting for somewhere between the 10th and 15th pick.

Got to see the Bolt/Kraken game this afternoon. It wasn't even close as the Bolts were all over the Kraken and were clearly the better team, winning 4-1 with 2 late empty netters. It is still amazing to me how well the Bolts have kept their 2015 Cup finalist team together and even gotten better and maintained the excellence compared to their opponent in 2015 which has deteriorated completely. Oh well, that is well known on this website, but it is still impressive to see how TB has maintained their excellence while the Chicago franchise has completely gone to rot.

I have seen a couple of Kraken broadcasts lately and I really like their announcer. He reminds me of all the great ones I used to listen to on Canadian radio stations pulled in to Chicago. I can't describe the sounds of those guys in words, but I know 'em when I hear 'em and this Seattle guy has got it going on. I love it when he says right before a slap shot: "Here it comes!!!!" Much better than the Chicago announcer who sounds like some kind of kid doing the broadcast of his junior high basketball games.

He was previously with Carolina and was not able to get a deal done and shortly after was named lead announcer for Kracken and works with our very own Eddie O. He also says, "that is hockey baby" after a nice goal/play and when a team scores the first goal, "they are off and running."

So to compare him to a "rookie" announcer that the Hawks have hired is not quite the same.

Regardless of the potential of the Hawks' hire, all I am saying is that right now I prefer the tone of voice and cadence of Forslung.

continuing in my OCD ways, i've combined 4 different kraken threads here into one.
anyways while i'm here...i was glad the avs beat the kraken in seattle tonight. that way they won't be in a surly mood when they meet us in their home opener and we might have slightly more than a snowball's chance in hell. actually, if we play like we did against toronto we might have a shot at a point or 2. who knows?

from her wiki page. After retiring from the Canadian national team in 2017, Campbell began coaching. As owner of JC Powerskating, her clientele included Tyson Jost, Stanley Cup champion Joel Edmundson, and Olympic gold medalist Natalie Spooner. In July 2022, she was hired as assistant coach of the Coachella Valley Firebirds, the top minor league affiliate of the NHL's Seattle Kraken. In her new role, she became the first woman to be employed on a full-time basis as a behind-the-bench coach in the AHL.On July 3, 2024, Campbell was hired to be the assistant coach for the Seattle Kraken. Campbell worked with head coach Dan Bylsma with the Firebirds. She is the first female coach to be behind the bench in NHL history.en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jessica_Campbell_(ice_hockey)
