Reports all over the internet that Florida is parting ways with Dale Tallon. This is why I don't think anything has been done to extend Bowman, it would have been widely reported as soon as it happened.

I know that might give ya hope, Phil, but Stan ain't going anywhere if the 'hawks win this series..... and likely not if they lose, as well.

I've made no bones about my feelings on this. And I don't think winning a play-in series does anything to precipitate the deal getting done. He's now in the playoffs, and the Hawks haven't won a playoff game in what, 4 years? If they get bounced I think that plays a factor.

someone, I don't recall whom, came to the old board and said that Stan had an extension. so, that was a while ago. either last summer or early season. point being, this has kinda been a rumor for a long time.
after how he did Q, I will never be a Stan fan. I've always tried to give him the benefit of doubt, as what choice do I have, anyway? so I wouldn't say that I want it to happen as much as I am resigned to it happening. the tea leaves are all there. I'm not a fan of it, but it is happening so here's hoping he does a good job and we have a winner again soon.

He only has to do a half assed job to get this team into the playoffs. If he does a great job, they’ll win a Cup. We’re seeing right now the impact of Toews and Kane again. Not many coaches or GMs have the luxury of taking a job with 4-5 future Hall of Famers on it. They’ve had that here. No more wasting time, no more “lateral moves”. Time to go for it while we got the guns and some luck on our side. Getting Dach is like finding a wallet full of 50s and the winning lotto ticket in it. Can’t rely on luck much more. It’s amazing what finding two good players can do for a team. Dach and Kubalik have gave the Hawks the depth they need, where guys like Highmore, Caligula etc can go play their roles and not try to be the top end guys. Just like when we had Toews, Kane, Sharp, Hossa. You need 4 very good forwards to lead the top 6. We have that again, and then some with Saad on the fringe and Dcat. Now the top 6 is something to look forward to!!! EDIT: Also getting another massive gift in making this tourney, they have an opportunity to do something great here. It would be terrible to get swept now. So now there’s absolutely no point in complaining, just time to hope for them to gel and make some serious noise!!! |

But I also think bringing back Dale isn’t the way either. When I said I think this team needs a fresh set of eyes. I meant that. I really do think the team needs someone without all the connections to players here, and make some changes that will be needed soon. Stan got lucky with Dach and the playoffs this year. I’ll give credit when due, he finally won a trade and got Kubalik. But the luck will run out!!! |

I was just alluding to the fact that shortly after being eliminated, reports were all over the internet that Tallon was being let go (his contract was expiring). But still nothing but Second City Hockey reporting Bowman had a new contract. So still hoping! |

However, once again Toews and Kane will probably save his bacon. It’s really a double edged sword at this point. Because if the team does do well, I feel Stan will just eff it up with this offseasons cap casualties. I fear he’s gonna talk Seabrook into a trade and have to heavily pay a team to take him, and Seabrook will probably retire with the new team soon after. I’m not sold on Stan making proper moves!!! |

Still no word on an extension. My best guess is there’s an extension if they make it past the 1st round or do well enough to warrant it. So no news is good news I guess!!!
