Well since we see fingers pointed at Kane and Toews who LED this team in regular AND postseason scoring and leadership as their often maligned salaries suggest they should and a 37yro Keith who's still required to cover the opponent's best for 25+ minutes a night because we have no one else remotely capable, let's take a look at the 'heirs apparent'.......I got fingers too. Kubalik had one good game and WTF is a career AHL'er doin' skatin' on that line while Kane skated on every line but that one with the exception of a desperation shift or two late? Dach did look a bit quicker and stronger and I expect improvement from him but we also need improvement from him. One tally despite dozens of glorious chances and less than a 1/3 of FO's won is problematic.....no? Not sure why he skated right into MAF Sunday night and Lehner again last night when he had a chance to shoot from in close, let's hope his development goes better than the rest of the kids like D-Cat and Strome who regressed under the supervision of the current staff. Strome and D-Cat exhibited the chemistry they had last year on the 2nd goal and could have done so during the year also if they were allowed to. I know Boqvist just turned 20 but he looked more lost than ever,Joker's a bigger, better D-man @20 and should NEVER have been moved. The fact that he was and for a useless, unreliable castoff should be the final nail in somebody's career here! Carlsson saw one game so it's hard to say but it wasn't a good one. Maybe the 173lb Mitchell and the 168lb Beaudin are the team's saving grace but how do either get a chance to prove it with this logjam at D? How would either fare against a big team like LV if we do see more PO action? How was Carlsson's game bad? If you look at the goal where he left the player in front of the net to cover the player who skated behind the net after both Dach and Murphy lost the board battles what was he suppose to do? Edzo can slice and dice it anyway he wants but there was not another Hawk player in sight. It was a 2 on 1 anyway you look at it. Maybe he learned from this but he should never have been put in that situation. On the GWG he skated across the ice and took the puck carrier off not only off the puck but out of the play. Again it was Murphy who instead of doing the same decided a poke check was the best option. He failed. Not only did he not gain possession but let the player skate away with the puck to complete a nice pass to an open man skating in all alone. This kid is great positionally which makes him a very good defensemen not a back end winger as is preferred I guess. He can skate the puck out of the zone if there are no other options instead of doing those silly stretch passes that often end up as icing. If they don't use this kid then trade him because every other team would welcome his defensive skills.

I know he’ll say he wants to play that much and is in great shape etc, but he just can’t do it anymore. He’s still a serviceable dman and probably even a top 4. So shame on the management for telling us this team has a good shot as long as the kids develop. The kids ain’t getting much better, and they won’t under these circumstances. I personally feel that Boqvist is an absolute bust at this stage. He’s just not an NHL dman today. He’s 20’ and he’s got time to improve, but he was outclassed every time on the ice, even at 20, that’s not very encouraging. Unfortunately our best dman was Maatta, so that’s not saying much. DeHaan is an NHL dman, just not one paid over 4 million. The forward group besides Kane and Toews looks like an expansion roster. If Stan stays, I don’t think we see a better team. We’ll be stuck in the middle and never ever get anywhere. He’s a fraud to even have his daddy push for the GM job for him. And if Scotty didn’t, why was Scotty screaming at Dale in the press box during the 2009 playoffs on tv for all to see? He was never good and he ain’t getting good. The core group has saved him for the last time. He’s gonna try and get another contract and sell his kids as the next best thing, but they’re not. Hope he’s gone before I finish this!!!

Couple thoughts T.... I did say Boqvist looked lost but much too early to call him a bust IMO. Not all these young D-men are ready at 19-20 and that goes for some good ones too,the question is,did they do him a favor with this experience or not? I expected a defensive gaff or three to be honest because he wasn't even good defensively in Jr's but I also thought we'd see some of the offensive traits we heard about.....he wasn't very dynamic. Using these kids correctly is important too,Krueger stated Joker with 15 3rd line minutes a game and gradually increased em up to 20 as the year went on.....developed him in other words. I thought Matta and de Haan were decent D-men when acquired and I still do but here's the point.......Tampa signed Shattenkirk for nearly one third of what de Haan makes and Maata's 4M hit is a bit high too. "Expansion roster"....LOL! That's a bit of an over-statement but then again,John Qhenneville did skate on our top line last night. "Fraud" might also be an over-statement but could we have brought in a real good D-man for the 8.6M paid to Maata and de Haan? Absolutely nothin in the PO's for the 7.4M paid Shaw and Smith though and we gave up a 2nd,a 3rd and a starting center for that! Anybody likin' that Nolander trade about now? I absolutely hated it from the get go! The team was good against the Oil and competitive against a LV team that doesn't lose much...........a better use of last summer's resources woulda went a long way but I been sayin' that all year.

Hahahahaha. I’ll stand by what I said. I do agree about Boqvist. I also said I don’t think it’s fair to call him a bust, but he’s shown absolutely none of the offensive flair he’s supposed to have. I also agree that setting him up to fail is what could sink him. Like, the kid cannot have any confidence left. And if he’s supposed to be a puck moving dman with huge offensive upside, I don’t see it. Even a smaller Quinn Hughes is lighting the hockey world on fire. Now, if Boqvist doesn’t do that, fine. But he’s gotta show something. And I doubt Boqvist turns into a defensive stalwart. In the end. The core group kept this team from being an embarrassment. Plain and simple. They won’t be relevant much longer so the “fraud” has nothing save his taint anymore!!!

I bet if Boqvist were traded, he'd really light it up. Just my gut feeling. Any confidence he had is shot now. If will still had Joker, Bo would have stayed in Rockford.
Side note: During game 5, on Queenville's first shift he threw a check. I told my wife he just contributed more than Nylander has the entire series.

I just can't for the life of me figure out why they are trying to get the defense to be offensive. To gain possession? That's failed and getting worse and possession numbers show that. Murphy is part of that problem as he continues to be less physical in favor of the poke check. The only time offensive defensemen work is when they are in the attacking zone where they can pinch in or join the rush. Not in their own zone where bodies need to be separated from the puck. And having a bunch of lazy forwards who won't come back far enough to help defend and are just floating around waiting for one of those precision stretch passes ain't helping either. Now even I am on board to remove both Stan and JC as this teams play has mirrored that of their coach and GM. TIMID. And with the way these young kids are as well as their coach I believe they don't have face to face conversations but rather text or tweet or whatever social media thing they do. Probably get hugs and juice boxes if the tweet hurt their feelings.

Interesting you mention Murphy, nobody wanted to see Hammer go but I remember saying I liked the thought of the big,raw-boned Irishman and his style of play I remembered with the Yotes.......we've seen less of that every year here and that's undebatable. Carpenter's still a tuff dude but he was a lot tuffer in LV and Zach Smith was a physical presence for Ott who'd drop em and stick up for his mates.......he fought once this year and that was when a Bruin challenged him for a hit on a teammate. As for what we see from our D-men in their own end,I have to point to the system and style of play taught here,JC's had two camps to instill it this year and that could be the problem. I liked Carlsson's defense first approach and his positioning in the regular season and Gilbert's willingness to throw guys the F outta the crease but the staff AND Org obviously didn't. They'd just turn Carlsson into another poke-checker anyway and Gilbert will stay burried in Rockford or either get moved. Sincere condolences on the loss of Kira my friend,if you go for a walk and swear she's still with ya.......it's because she is.

Thank you for the condolences and well the Kira dog is still with me and always will. She is in a beautiful urn down in the Blackhawks room waiting for me to meet her at the rainbow bridge. Although I was pissed at the vet because she missed the tumor on her spleen I knew something was really wrong the next day and knew she was dying. Laid with her for the 36 hours until the vet I found in Warrenville came to the house to put her down. She left this world laying in her favorite corner in the Blackhawks room. She was well known in Crestwood and her passing spread quickly. The mailman was the first to realize and asked if Kira was ok because he hadn't seen us 2 knuckleheads in a few days. She passed on Saturday and by Wednesday I had received condolence cards from many neighbors,Village Hall, the police and fire departments and public works. I called the breeder I got her from in Greencastle In and thanked her for letting Kira in my life. That kinda floored her and then she told me that Kira at 12 and a half years old had outlived the rest of the litter by a year. Now back to the team. JC has got to go. His Swedish Elite hockey is not gonna work in the NHL at this point even though that the direction the league wants to go. The Blackhawks need to stop being the guinea pig for the league's experiments. They don't even need to be that physical just positioning between player and puck will disrupt everything so a pass cannot be made. Fine you may not have gotten possession of the puck but hey guess what? Neither do they. If they want to play poke check do it in the offensive zone not your defensive zone. It's been a failure for years. I see Gilbert and Carlsson as 2 very good but raw NHL defensemen who are ready to step up. I'd like to see Keith,deHaan,Murphy,Boqvist,Gilbert and Carlsson on D next year with Seabrook. Seabs could teach Gilbert and Carlsson on the 3rd pairing. Let Beaudin and the others learn a year or 2 in Rockford until Seabs is gone. The Devils need some seasoned defensemen so Maata and Koekkoek may be of interest to them and Stan can shed some salary.

Quite the fitting send off my friend and I know you realize that says a lot about you too. My Hunta-hound Skyler turned 13 back in March and she's hangin in there pretty well, she had an eposode a few months back and I wasn't sure I'd be taking her home with me because she was a sick old girl but she pulled through. Every day's a gift at this point and she takes full advantage!LOL! We can take solace in the great care we give our dog family but as hard as we try,we can only return a fraction of the love they show us! I don't know how they clear the logjam at D but I bet Mitchell gets his shot right off and Beaudin has to have somebody slavating @168lbs too but it ain't me.

I'll tell you what friend if and when you know that time is there this vet and his network are well worth what they do. I could have taken her to the vet 3 miles down the road on Friday night but elected to wait till Saturday morning for him to come to the house. If it got worse I could have drove her the 3 miles and had it done but didn't want her last memory to be wheeled on a cold steel cart. To my surprise also is that he came to the house on a Saturday gave her the 2 shots wrapped her in a nice blanket and took her back to his office and put her in a cooler till Tuesday when they do the cremations. Then sent her ashes to me in a nice bronze urn. Best part is that his serves for all of this was $550.00 where driving her to that cold steel cart would have cost $600.00. If you would like to go that route I have all his information.

If you would like to go that route I have all his information. I lost my precious girl Brandy in February of 2018 a month before her 11th birthday. And the most painful part is it was due to a product I gave her for flea and tick prevention (Bravecto). I am involved in a class action lawsuit right now against the manufacturer to try and get reimbursed for the expenses they cost me. But nothing will ever bring her back, and feeling responsible for giving her the product will never ease my pain.
I'm going to try and open up a new thread for those of us who want to share pictures of our precious pets. I still have my boy Sonny, who turned 11 in May and I will have had for 10 years this coming November 5th. He and Brandy were best of friends, and it hurts me he doesn't have his "sister" to play with anymore. He's doing good, a few minor issues but seems to be pretty healthy. I immediately took him off Bravecto when I found out how dangerous the product was, and he fortunately only started showing signs around the time I took him off. He's fully recovered from the product and I hope to have him for quite a few more years.
Interesting fact: My last 2 dogs I spoke about are Australian Cattle Dogs. The oldest dog on record was an Aussie that lived for 29 years! If he's healthy and happy I'd love for him to be around with me for another 18 years. That would put me at 78 (or 546 in dog years).

Does anyone know how to reduce the size of pictures in order to upload them onto this board? I'd also love to share some videos of my 2 playing together.I've tried on several of my pups pictures but they are all too big. I'm not computer savvy so don't know what to do in order to share my pics. Any help would be appreciated. I'd love to open a thread for all of us who have or have had family pets, to share pictures and/or videos of them.

Open up the file, and then under the home tab click "resize" in the image panel. You should be able to scale your images that way. I would suggest saving the resized file in a different file--don't overwrite the original. This is of course assuming you have Windows 10. I wouldn't know on a Mac--the last Apple product I used willingly was playing The Oregon Trail on an Apple //e.

Just upload the pics or video and and you can link them here in any size.
