Very sad to hear the news of one of the greats. He had a battle with cancer. RIP!!!

It was always going to be hard to beat that one. His 103 points as a rookie trail only Selanne, Ovechkin and Peter Stastny. One of the greats.

many accolades on twitter about hawerchuk....just as many about what a great person he was as what a great player he was.

That’s awesome GT. I had the luxury of meeting him for about 34 seconds after a Spitfires game. Nothing special, just got introduced by a friend who works for the Spits when he was with Barrie Colts. He seemed cool, and he seemed like a very likeable guy. I love when teams do something special for one of our games players when they pass on. RIP #10!!!
