Vincent Viola, the team's owner, (clarified that "[Tallon] has always had final say over hockey decisions." To me always means uninterrupted.
I highly doubt Tallon was the GM when Rowe was. Is that what you’re implying? I don’t understand your argument? At all!!! The article gt posted answered my question about "where that quote from Viola came from" but then went on to debunk the quote.

But to my other discussion with Nighbor. It would be just like me starting an argument with your post here. You didn’t imply anything or make a stand or nothing opinionated. You just simply stated what the article said, nothing to argue there. All I ever said about the Panthers state was that Dale got interrupted in his work after a good season, then had to come back in a couple years later only to undue what the other guy did. Then try to regroup and move on. I think it was highly detrimental to that team to have those changes and the proof is in the results!!!

(may 16, 2016 – april 10, 2017) still a dumb move though.

Fire him with dignity and look like a classy guy/organization. That team probably was thinking like WTF is going on? I by do I wanna be here? And did moves like that ruin free agents wanting to come there? I don’t care that they got rid of Uncle Dale, it’s just that the guy who replaced him made a mockery out of the game. I think Dale is stubborn and wants things his way, he buts heads a lot I’d have to think, but the man knows his hockey. If he gets shtcanned, that’s on him. Maybe his time has passed by? I’m thinking he may just fade away now!!!

Ya, Dale is definitely older than most think. I think you’re right, he’ll spend the rest of his days on a course in Florida. That’s probably the best thing for him. The game is a changing, and even guys like Bob Murray are probably on his last corner. Older grumpier guys are now almost obsolete!!!

I didn't care for Gardner at first but he grew on me to the point when I was sorry to see him go. Eddie is the best color guy in terms of seeing everything in real time and explaining it quickly and thoroughly - but, the Pat & Eddie show has worn very thin over the years and I'd much rather have John & Troy doing the TV broadcast.

Traded Grudbranson Traded Kulikov Signed Yandle for 6.35M till he's 37 with full NMC Re-did Ekblad for max term @7.5M with NMC his last four years. Ekblad is a very good, very young D-man but the contract was still a big move and big money and term. Firing Galant early in the season and taking over himself was a farce.

Foley and Tallon were great partly because the games were simulcast on both TV and radio. So they couldn't stray from the call of the game to discuss soft serve ice cream and cookies. The worst thing that happened to Foley (outside of being fired in the first place) was having 2 broadcast teams. John and Troy are great at calling the games on the radio. Pat and Eddie get the chance to stray because they know fans can see the action going on. Example is when they are separated. When Eddie is doing the national games, he stays on point. While when Steve Konroyd is in the booth with Pat, the game is actually called by them more completely. Rarely, if ever, do Pat and Steve stray from the call of the game.
As for Tallon ever coming back.....as long as Bowman is part of the Hawks organization, that alone is a non-starter. I can not see them co-existing, although I'd love to be a fly on the wall if they were to go head to head!
