Not sure what you mean by 'day one' but he did work with him in London and expected to in Rockford too but the team only left him there for 15 games before he was recalled.
I'll leave who "sucks" or not up to you but Campbell himself said the kid still needed work in his own end and he looked forward to working with him further in the 'A' and Boqvist woulda been better off for it.
I see the holes in the kid's game too but he looks like a lock for 30-40 points per and his defensive play should improve.......we forget he's only 20. 

Saying that Campbell coaching him didn't stop then, he still coaches him here in Chicago or Rockford.
