hogs shut out in G.R. special teams let them down again. their PP was 3rd worst in the league (31 teams) at 11.6% and their PK is a league worst 76.8%. those numbers will be slightly worse now. it would be quite an accomplishment if they could grab a playoff spot with those numbers. | American Hockey League Game #912 Rockford 0 at Grand Rapids 3 Van Andel Arena Mar 7, 2020 | Referee: | Alex Ross (7) Sean Fernandez (72) | Linesmen: | Jake Davis (23) Logan Wetekamp (1) | |

What about Wooters Peters? it appears he's the second string goalie playing for the guildford flames in england. his numbers are pretty pedestrian. he's got youth (and size) going for him, but there's not much there that blows my hair back tbh. hope to be proven wrong, of course. www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=194123

He's a big boy and has good athletic ability, sometimes bigger kids take longer. If Crow doesn't sign a short term deal does Namilov come over? His numbers have dropped but he's another big guy with good abilities, plus he's in his mid 20's, give him a shot or trade him.

Nice to see his save percentage went up, I haven't checked his stats in a while but when I did his save percentage was under .900.

Wasn't he the young,Russian who wouldn't come over without NHL assurances? Now he's willing to sign a PTO with Rockford...…..good to see him come to his senses. You'd think the Hogs were OK with Delia and Tompkins unless they fell in love with the three goalie carousel and you gotta wonder how all this makes Suban feel. I know Suban @26 is probably a career back-up but he has started over 20 games each of the last three years......he's 30-23-7.

bob, I think you're right. I seem to remember past comments on the old board by Nalimov that it was the NHL if he came over, or back to Russia if he didn't impress. We can hope he's gotten better in the KHL.

Hogs signed Gagne for the remainder of the season ending is player tryout.
They also extended Osipov for one more year, injures have slowed his progress this season but he's a huge right handed dman who's 23 and he plays hard, good to have in the system.
Those 2 are big guys and it's nice seeing them going in that direction, hopefully Bowman won't be around this summer to make more changes.

After the Saskatoon season is over I want the Hogs to give Riley McKay a PTO. He’s my candidate for the Andrew Shaw award, older and undervalued when you see his points but a player that makes everyone he plays with bigger. Pure heart. And he’s covered for the likes of Dach and Yamamoto. If you can play along those two and not embarrass yourself....he’s the kind of prototypical energy player I might want to see. Hogs signed Reese Johnson on intangibles other than scoring. What have you got to lose? Hawks already invited him to camp as an invite so he’s not unknown.Andrew Shaw has more points as an overage fifth round afterthought than many picked above him. Don’t discount will. McKay would be a long shot for sure but I want to see more terrier in our players and not so much poodle peeing on the carpet.

In regards to Nalimov; supposing he does play well in what few games he'll get to play in, (won't he part of a 3 man rotation for about 13 remaining games) I'm curious as to what his future will be. Assuming Delia, Tomkins and Lankinen are all back, I wonder what the Hawks have in mind. Although Nalimov has to hold up his end first.

I'm sure he'll be invited to camp again, yeah his numbers aren't the best but like you said, he played alongside decent players and didn't embarrass himself. Didn't he lead the WHL in penalty minutes last season? I hope Bowman and Colliton are gone and they actually play tough players like McKay, if he deserves a spot of course.

Makes sense since there's no hockey, for him to wanna come over and sign a PTO with the Hogs is encouraging.
