I don't know how many HC's would have survived that stretch of play to start a year,especially with the expensive additions.

Looks like it's Derrick King for now. What's his story? I wonder if he has a different approach that will turn this group of "players" into a team that might threaten to win a few games. |

I think King has absolutely no time to get anything done. All he can do is basically let them play to their strengths. It’s the same as when JC took over. The team will out score opponents, and look good doing so. Then inexperienced management ends up signing them longer term. Let’s hope that’s not the case here.
What I’d like to see is the team become a team and have something to work off of. Let’s say they salvage the year, miss the playoffs, but looked good doing so. They can hire a solid GM and coach. Let this Davidson fella return to his post, and maybe in 4-5 years he can take over. However, it’s starting to look like Davidson will be the guy. Which is a mistake I believe. They hired Scambo and he was a fraud. I think this fella may be just like that. Don’t know enough to make a difference.
If the year remains bad. We need a real GM to lead the dissection of this roster and aim for a rebuild. At that point, nothing should be off the table. And I mean nothing!!!

He is the financial cap guy of the Hawks like stan was. I said on another thread Danny needs to get his President in and then they get their GM. At least he was hired now. He needs a full summer and full camp to implement his system otherwise the players will look like headless chickens and they might start winless in the first dozen games

This should be gone from Hawk Talk. I guess we got to move threads with hagel, panarin, foley, hoss, fleury among others. JC (and bowman) both ultimately failed but i think you gotta' take the good with the bad in hawk talk. They're part of the history. The good thing is they're both history. |
