I saw most of the Oiler/Av game tonight (11/14) and McDavid had 6 points, 3 goals and 3 assists. The goals were all on power plays. His maneuverings to set himself up for the goals were amazing. It was the best show I have ever seen from him and it was quite impressive.

Still a one line hockey club, but what a line. Can you imagine how inept Edmonton would still be if they hadn’t lucked into the McDavid pick?

Guess I have not seen that much from McDavid previously that impressed me, but his performance last night opened my eyes. It is fun watching guys with skills that set them apart from the rest. Glad the Hawks have Kane and that he is starting to heat up big time.

I'm sick of hearing about McDavid and the Oilers 1 line. They're getting lucky wins and without their many 1st overall picks handed to them they'd be basement dwellers. Terrible organization and their fans are some of the worst.

I love the total package of McDavid. I serious think he could hit 150 points this year. Or soon in the future. Draisaitl ain’t no slouch either. It’s nice to see Kassian doing good, I was hanging with Zacks brother last weekend, and he said Zack is loving the fact that McDavid and Draisaitl are making him a very rich dude. It’s good for the game to have superstars like them, we should be cherishing them!!!

But, I still admired the skills of the Oilers, especially when I got to see them live and in person. Back then, all I had left to beat the Oilers was the Flames with Mike Vernon, Joel Otto, Joe Mullen and Al MacInnis who finally beat the Oilers in 1986. I no longer hate Edmonton, so I can admire McDavid, especially after what I saw last night, which, as said, was the best I have ever seen him play. It is great to be able to watch the skill level of such superstars.

Once Gretzky left here I finally started to appreciate him. I'm trying to like McDavid but these fans always ruin it. Even a few good friends who are die hard Oiler fans can't stand Oiler fans.

I forgot about that but not surprised, I've never liked Messier and his commercials after McDavid was drafted were MESSed up. My first ever live NHL game was game 4 of the conference finals vs Edmonton when Chicago swept them and I was 15. I was harrassed all night because I was dressed in Chicago gear and when the Oilers knew they were going to be swept they played very dirty and I'll never forget seeing my cousin Keith Brown get hit from behind when he wasn't close to the play and that ended his career in Chicago with a severe shoulder separation. He tried playing in Florida but he wasn't the same. I believe it was Kevin Lowe in the same game who chopped at Belfours glove hand after he covered the puck on the ice. Belfour was in a lot of pain and probably broke his hand. First game vs the Pens the Hawks came out flying but part of the Pens comeback was one goal that looked like a routine catch but he couldn't hold it and they scored on the rebound. My hatred of the Oilers goes back to the mid 80's but that game is when I seriously despised them and their fans. Extremely classless and it hasn't changed.

I know this: I have him in 2 leagues, one with the 3rd pick and one with the 4th, and I was laughing my ass off both times when he dropped to me.....
for the record, MacKinnon and Kucherov were the 2 picked before him, but in the one league a Coyotes fans took frickin Burger Phil with the third pick... I couldn't frickin believe it...
last week I played said team when ol Connor had this game... needless to say, I reminded them of their error....😅

you beat me to it. filthy move that was. morgan reilly isn't the greatest defensive defenseman out there but it'd be interesting to see the top 30 defenders in the league go up against that exact move. one can only speculate, but i think mcd would make mincemeat out of the majority of them.

I heard Millbury break that goal down and he said he didn't know what else Reilly coulda done, move up to close the gap and he makes you look silly...…..drop back to cut the angle and he goes inside-outside back to inside and just flips it over the GT's glove hand like he's not even there......WTF! Mybe a better skater stays with him there but I don't think there are any better skaters. It's a dam shame we don't get to see this generational player in conference semi's and finals let alone a STF.

Well I'm not sure if the Flames beat the Oilers, or if rookie defenseman Steve Smith, on his 21st birthday, did when he tried to pass the puck out from behind his own net and hit Grant Fuhr in the skate which deflected into his own net for the eventual game winning goal in game 7 of the conference final

That play put him on the Hawks radar as their type defenseman
