youtu.be/PqLIEDL-yW8I personally don’t see it. And the questioned player says he did a tough guy weight lifter impersonation. If it was indeed a racial taunt at Jordan. Kick the bastard out of the league and hockey. It has to end. They have to make an example of someone and all leagues just need to step up and stop stupid shit. Just fuckin stop it once and for all!!!

There's absolutely no place for racism but I think people are way too sensitive now a days and looking for anything to complain about.

That kid was literally booted out of hockey for something he may not have done. It seems like he’s been ostracized without any investigation. To quick to criticize here. I hope it found innocent. The kid gets reinstated immediately and both Subbans are forced to apologize. PK was opening his yap too. So how if you call a person and f colour a “piece of shit”. Is that gonna be made out to be a racist thing too? Like the world is collapsing around us, I feel awful for the kids coming up!!!

There’s other video, albeit somewhat of poor quality, where he does the same gesture to other players. Tom Wilson, and others, have done the same.I’ve used the same gesture myself to make fun of muscled up goofs. I don’t think there’s malice here. I’m hoping at least for a fair investigation and not a quick decision from a league nervous about a Twitter mob attack.

i looked at the original video a dozen times and i couldn't see anything definite that pointed a finger at panetta (who btw turns 26 tomorrow). if that was all the evidence against him, he'd be back playing for someone again in no time. but you have to remember the penalties that were apparently called on panetta at the time of the incident. According to the Florida-Times Union newspaper in Jacksonville, the game report indicates the officiating crew assessed two game misconduct penalties to Panetta for continuing an altercation and for "inciting," under ECHL Rule 75.5, which applies to "obscene gestures on the ice or anywhere in the rink before, during or after the game."www.cbc.ca/sports/hockey/jacob-panetta-suspension-echl-apparent-racial-gesture-1.63247622 game misconducts to one person on one incident sounds like a serious infraction. i think the officiating crew will be the main providers of evidence whatever happens. anyways, it's all speculation at this point. tbh, i don't see much point in commenting any more until the investigation is complete.

I've made that gesture many times in hockey, and outside, but never once to a black person. I've only played against and with a few black guys and we got a long, if not I would've made that gesture to them as well and it wouldn't have been racial, just meant I wanted to drop the gloves. Unless the refs heard him say something racist how can they say he made a gesture when there's video evidence and nothing's conclusive. Even during his apology the 26yr old seemed confused and didn't know he did anything wrong.

What’s wrong with a fair and unbiased look at things before anyone jumps to judgement?
