Hossa allowed Toews and Kane to become the stars they were. Hossa was needed in more ways than people imagined. I still believe the Hawks win in 2010 even without Hoss. But after that, Hoss was the main reason the Hawks won what they did. Hossa and Keith were the driving forces in Chicago.
Imagine being on a line with Hossa? You know he’s got your back if take a chance you shouldn’t. He makes you look good even when you’re at your worst. He never has a bad game. His best games are when he didn’t score. Imagine that? There’s very few players like that. And they’re all in the Hall of Fame, just like Hossa.
The day Hossa couldn’t do it anymore. The Hawks declined rapidly. It’s hard to find players that play 20 mins per night. And Hossa played 20 perfect mins a night. He’s possibly the best Blackhawk ever. Can’t replace that!!!

I agree he was a major force behind their success. I remember years ago Kane saying Hoss taught him some techniques including taking the puck away from Dmen. Like you say it was his overall game - not just the points.

Scott he said that Datsyuk taught him how to steal the puck the one year he spent with the Wings.

Pens and Wings fans complained that Hoss was selfish and inconsistent, that's something us Hawks fans never experienced, maybe they were bitter they didn't win when he was briefly there.
Hoss was easily the best free agent signing in Blackhawk history and it was a pleasure watching him play a dominating 2way game.
If he wants he'll be welcomed back in any form, scout, management, coaching, or ambassador.

In case anyone missed the ceremony here is the video. Thanks T-man,I didn't get a chance to see it all yesterday. Thought it was interesting to hear Edzo mention their "next chapters" when he introduced K&T....Big Hoss mentioned the rest of their careers too. I believe the rumors will pick up now that the celebration is over. Great to see Big Hoss so fit and pleased with life! Great family(now we know who the original 'frank the tank' was),Beautiful wife and kids, a few bucks to fall back on and successful businesses back home,HoF Hockey God and a humble guy too who appreciates it all. Loved the shout-outs to Q,Larmer and Dale! McD and SB got honorable mentions....LOL We can take Shooter's pic off the milk cartons now that we know he's okay. Does no Foley suggest bad feelings?

But I always marked the end of the dynasty with the Hjarlmarson trade.

Ran out of shirts before Crow got there? (Zus aged well, no grey at all) They found one.... Great to see CC! 50 should go to the rafters, winningest playoff goalie in franchise history and the only goalie to win 2 Cups, probably wouldn't have won in 2013 without him.

They found one.... Great to see CC! 50 should go to the rafters, winningest playoff goalie in franchise history and the only goalie to win 2 Cups, probably wouldn't have won in 2013 without him. Twenty five goals allowed in the caldron of twelve SCF games define his career as much as anything for me. GT's have to overcome bad starts and CC could put em behind him with the best of them. The Bruins mustered THREE goals in games 5&6 back in '13' after Doc&Edzo led the CC's glove-hand schtick and stoned the red hot Bolts after losing the net in the opening round in '15'. The big Russian rookie GT COULD have been the story of the finals for TB,allowing the Hawks only 13 goals in six SCF games but CC only allowed the team that chased Price and the 'King' TEN.........TWO combined in games 5&6........with a 32 save shutout for an exclamation point to close out his 2nd cup.

Ran out of shirts before Crow got there? (Zus aged well, no grey at all) He's exercising every morning and is very strict on his catering as far as I know. He's one of a kind - maybe not the biggest talent but with his work ethic he had more than an affordable career.

Holy snikes I just found out about this guy... he was a beast! Those highlights don’t get old. Then there are his defensive highlights. Not as exciting but helped win games.

Got 2 tickets for Hossa's goodbye game to be held in August. Part of the ticket is also a signed jersey. Big Buff should also join him, Nick Lidstrom, Captain still a possibility along with all Slovak all-stars. Happy like a kid. www.gbg81.com/

Lots of goals for but also against... But might be also thanks to the fact that he played so may seasons.

am i the only one here who's disappointed to see their former hockey heroes just let themselves go after they leave the game?
i kid.
not sure how recent it is but it's definitely post retirement.
edit: i'm assuming it's very recent because it was very recently posted but not 100% sure.
