Per Sirius NHL: Josh Bailey to Hawks with a 2026 2nd in exchange for future considerations. Doesn't sound like a very good addition. Reading he's slowed down dramatically and likely would be at best bottom line. I understand there's only one year left on his deal and the Hawks got an additional pick in 2026. I just wonder if there isn't anything better from other cap strapped teams the Hawks could have added cap money to? |

He was projected to go in the 30s by a lot of scouts, 27 to 50 was the high and low. So he could be a steal in the 3rd. |

I guess they value the draft asset rather than keep Bailey around which they could have. They will get to the floor, plenty of other candidates out there either through trade or FA. Plus, it allows Bailey to sign with another team and continue to play next year which is a good gesture by the Hawks of treating players with respect particularly veterans and in a small way sends a good signal that the Hawks organization wants to do the right thing for its players. |

Pretty sure it allows them a couple of days to sign him which they will try. I am sure the Hawks had to lay some groundwork to the Perry camp (directly or indirectly) that they might trade for him and got some feedback back that Perry might be willing to sign. |
