Well, at least Boston got to play 7 more games then the Hawks! May sound silly, but I'd rather the Hawks not play than lose like this. Good point, at least with the Hawks, one had no hopes and as soon as the season was into the second week, one knew that team was going nowhere. With the Bruins, the hopes were high and the comedown was epic. No Hawk fan ever felt as low this year as the Bruins' fans are feeling tonight.

The thing with Bruins is that the never had to face adversity during the season -- and when they did face it in the playoffs -- because for some reason the cats refuse to just say meow -- they couldn't handle it. Adversity builds character. Pretty much what I said before the series started. They had next to no pressure games all season, while the Panthers were playing playoff hockey for almost the final 2 months of the regular season. Congrats, Phill. You must be feeling a lot better than after the Bolt series last year. Your team pulled off a stunning upset and, as said above, the greatest playoff upset in NHL history.

I dont believe it makes it better Florida must go another round to improve the Tampa pick. really? I thought they moved up if they advanced? its weird if Cats loose to Leafs they will still pick ahead of Bolts Playoff teams that did not win their divisions and did not make the conference finals, sorted by points, are assigned the next picks. If you go to Tankathon they go over it

There isn't a 43 point differential if Fla doesn't sleep-walk for half a season and if Ulmark didn't play outta his ass all year jack. Tampa got swept by a talentless BJ's team after a 128 point season back in '18' and a team that was the 'next dynasty' only a year ago lost to a team that didn't exist the year before that. Both monumental upsets IMO. The Cats are a highly-talented,highly paid veteran team and the only upset was, they didn't cough-up a hairball this time.....finally.

Read that Ullmark was playing with a significant injury that effected his technique, not sure what that exactly means, but just excuses. Bottom line they lost 3 home games and 4 total games in about 10 days when they only lost 12 all year. Blew leads in games 5 & game 7 (final minute) and their defense did not play well particularly their top guys in crucial moments. They had no answer for Tkachuk, I know some were skeptical of the trade with Calgary, but he was a beast, definitely when you look up playoff hockey player in the dictionary his photo will came up.

Tkachuk is not a likeable guy but hard to argue with what he has brought to this team.

It is also important to note as you posted that the Bruins played the majority of the series without their #1 and #2 centers and that possibly Ullmark was hobbled also. It MIGHT have been a different outcome if those deficits had not occurred, no matter how talented the Cats are.

It MIGHT have been a different outcome if those deficits had not occurred, no matter how talented the Cats are. All most of us did all year(including me),was laugh at Bob's contract, ridicule their PO failure from last year and wonder how in the hell they'd even 'ice' a lineup with their cap problems, forgetting how loaded the team really is. Last year's disappointment and this year's slow start meant absolutely nothing once the 'second season' started......they were over-due for a big series win IMO. The fact remains,Zito added some outstanding players! Verhaeghe,Montour,Reinhart and Bennett have been stellar and for 18.6M......combined. Forsling skated just shy of TWENTY SIX minutes last night in a regulation game and his +7 through 8 games is tied for his team's lead........BRILLIANT pick-up! I originally thought Zito overpaid for Tkachuk......I was wrong!

Agree, that Bergeron would have helped certainly, but boy or boy Tkachuk on of couple of those important goals would not be denied. I also like you thought Zito overpaid, will see if Huberdeau bounces back next season. Tkachuk leads everyone in playoff scoring with 14 points and that is impressive with McDavid and Draissaitl still playing. Hopefully we can draft and develop someone like Tkachuk, at some point you will that type of player to be successful.
