bruins goaltending is a bit of a question mark imho. between swayman and ullmark they have 7 playoff starts between them.
florida's goalies even more of a question mark and besides that, the bruins are just too f'n good this year.
i'll give florida a game for matt tkachuk so bruins in 5.

Bruins lost 12 games all season.....2 of them to the Panthers (and 1 to the Hawks). The Panthers have been playing playoff hockey for weeks just to get into the playoffs, while the Bruins have been locked into a playoff position for well over a month.
This series is ripe for an upset, so I'm picking the upset, Cats in 6

This series is ripe for an upset, so I'm picking the upset, Cats in 6 i agree the series is ripe for an upset, but boston wasn't exactly coasting into the playoffs. the last month while florida was scrambling to get in the playoffs they went 9-5-1. their .633 points % was a respectable 12th. in the same time frame, the bruins went 15-2-0 and their points % of .862 was second only to edmonton's. did the bruins expend too much energy breaking the regular season records for wins and points in a season? they're the 2nd oldest playoff team this year behind only tampa, so we'll see soon enough. for the record, boston won the season series 2-1-1. the average game boston scored 4.25 goals and the cats scored 3.75. what's interesting that the 3.75 goals/game that florida scored on boston was the most in the league by a team in the east. will that matter in the playoffs? again, we'll see.

all depends on Lyon or Bob. one of them is gonna have to be on fire for the cats to win.

Panthers can't continue to take early penalties and expect to win. They've been doing this seemingly every game the last several weeks. 2 penalties tonight in the first 5 minutes and you're now down a goal. Then as well as Lyon has been playing, including several highlight reel saves, he gave up a horrible goal to put Boston up 2 - 0. Boston wins the game with a big assist by the Panthers. Need to clean these up next game or they'll come back to Florida in a 2 - 0 hole.

Boston allowed .44 fewer goals per game than the next stingiest team this year and they've killed 44 of the last 45 penalties they took. Bergeron draws back-in from stomach flu Wednesday night........good luck Florida!

I just saw he's out for game two,is it me or have the "non-Covid illnesses" as the league calls em kept players out longer than a Flu has in the past? Maybe just a bad strain this year I guess, another Bruin lost eight pounds going through it right before Bergeron........doesn't that sounds like fun?

Great win, the big boys came to play. If the Panthers can clean up some of the mistakes and cut down on the penalties they could very well come back to Boston with a 3 games to 1 lead.

I'm unfortunately going to have to change my prediction of Florida in 6. If the team can't come out motivated to play in the playoffs, especially against a record setting team, then there's a problem with that team.
Florida has been driving me nuts all season but I thought they were over their early to mid season lapses. With the talent they have, they can compete with any team. But they don't appear to have the desire or drive to bring it every game. So I'm now picking Boston, and wouldn't be surprised if it ends in 5

I wanted to pull for the cats in this one badly, but with the way the tb/loafs series is looking, I'm rooting for Boston now. someone needs to eliminate the goddamn lightning asap.

Any input on whether it was alcohol, substance or PED related or more of a mental health issue? The kid always seemed serious and mature for his age, what an opportunity he's missing!

Absolutely nothing after the initial announcement, not even during the games. I am 4 hours from Sunrise, so maybe they discuss it on the news closer to the location? His name hasn't even come up with Lyon taking his spot on the roster. It's almost as if he never existed. I'll be curious if there is something serious enough that Florida doesn't look into nullifying his contract Let me add this: I get the Orlando local channels. Their sports coverage is horrific. They talk soccer and some Orlando Magic basketball. They never talk hockey in the regular season and minimally in the playoffs. I get it,the teams are in Tampa and Sunrise, but they are Florida teams. They also don't talk baseball, again teams based in Tampa (worst ballpark I've ever been to) and Miami. In Chicago, I watched the news FOR the sports segment. Since moving to Florida, I watch the news UNTIL the sports segment.

BS goal. Whistle blows, ref waives it off, then they reverse call without a review. Guess the refs have been instructed to get the Bruins to the finals

The Bruins definitely getting some calls and breaks in that first period IMO. Of course, you gotta help a team who only won 65 games this season to give them a chance. And now 3 power plays to none. I'm surprised the Panthers don't get a delay of game penalty for icing the puck

Panthers lucky to make it into OT. Getting doubled up in shots and Boston has completely controlled the game. 3 powerplay goals and the Panthers continue to take stupid penalties. They take another in OT and it's likely over
