the kraken are a nice story this year, but the Avs are gonna have their way with Seattle's goaltending.

avs in 6 sounds good to me.
avs top 4 since the all star break and seattle's top 2 goalies (jones/grubauer) both under .900 and both close to 3 goals against/game.
i'll give the kraken 2 wins due to their balanced scoring but that's all they'll get from me.

Rantenan elevated his game and Geogiev tied for most wins with Ullmark at 40.

Avs in 5 difficult for Kraken to make a series out of it .

Rantenan elevated his game and Geogiev tied for most wins with Ullmark at 40. not to mention they had jack johnson back for 25 games. : ) ...who incidentally had an 83 game season this year. not bad for 36.

No Kadri this year will make Avs job to repeat even harder. He scored some big goals in last year's run to a cup victory.

I don't know how many more games Seattle wins but they're as serious as hell! They're well coached and surprisingly well put together, all things considered. They defend the middle of the ice well and they're also fast in transition. Their D-men are big and physical(some huge!),5 of last night's starters came in the expansion draft and the 6th was 32yro two-time cup winner Justin Schultz...a dandy of a 3MX2 UFA signing! They also fore-check hard,Yani Gourd was a 'guided missile' coming in on Devon Toews when he coughed up the puck on the Krak's first goal! The Avs will have to work real hard for their four W's in this series but I believe they still get em.

Seems to be a Kraken the Avalanche game plan, chasing 2 after the first period.

Game ones don't prove much but Seattle going up 2-0 again on the road and not giving up the GWG till half way through the 3rd with the Avs having last change and a chance to make adjustments after game one was VERY encouraging.

Nichuskin is away from the Avs now for personal reasons. didn't seem to hurt them this evening but it will surely make their task more difficult going forward if he is gone for a while...

Kracken play tough, gritty and tenacious, but talent will prevail in this series.

no Makar now for game 5 after his one game suspension today for his hit on McCann... No mccann either. His 40 goal reg season will be missed. Beniers is now their leading regulat season goal scorer with 24. 13 kraken with at least 10 goals this regular season. To put it into perspective, chicago's end of season roster had 5.

personally, I thought the Avs played better down the stretch without Makar. made them play better defensively, imo. losing McCann hurts Seattle as well, but it may also cause them to tighten up defensively as he isn't exactly a future Selke winner out there...

Wow, hats down to Kraken. Surely, the series is not over, but I've never would have thought they would win 3 and have Avs on the brink of elimination.

Wow, hats down to Kraken. Surely, the series is not over, but I've never would have thought they would win 3 and have Avs on the brink of elimination. idk if their coach dave hakstol will win the jack adams, but he'll be right up there in the voting i reckon. only 4 years as an nhl coach and a rather average record of 131-104-42 record when he signed on with the kraken a couple years ago. i remember at the time being rather unimpressed with seattle's pick to coach their team. a 40 point improvement from year 1 to year 2 is nothing to sneeze at. i guess he was the right man for the job after all. according to his wiki page he was "the first head coach to go directly from the NCAA to the NHL since 1982 (Bob Johnson from the University of Wisconsin to the Calgary Flames)."
