Oil in 6.
Edmonton is playing too good and LA has questionable goaltending right now, imo. if Skinner plays like shit, LA could win, but I'm betting that he doesn't.

oilers in 6.
yep, they're rolling alright.
initially said oilers in 5 but korpisalo has been alright since joining the kings (7-3-1, .921, 2.13) so we'll make it oilers in 6.

Was thinking in 5 but went 6. I am with big T. Oil my pick to go all the way. Last year was the first year McD decided to do everything no matter what zone or who had the puck. He figured out he can be a force every time that just continues this year. I also would love to see them knocked out in the first round.

Oiler fans are blaming the refs, but they didn't mind a 5 on 3 for a minute and a half when they scored though.
The penalty that helped LA tie it was a cross check to the head and the one in OT the Oiler dman fell and swung his stick wildly and tripped the LA player, both should be called every time.

McDavid with no points although surely had some great chances.
Edit: Interesting it is always someone else or something else to blame

Phillip Danault put put on a twenty four and a half minute defensive clinic last night,he's one of the game's best values.

the Danault trade was when I lost faith in SB Hey we got Dale Weise and Tomas Fleischmann for Danault, remember all of the impact those two made . Bowman even through in second rounder back to Canadiens. Lost faith is an understatement.

Was PD matched against McD most of the night? Right in his 'back pocket'......all game. McDavid will figure it out but he'll have to work for it and the thing about that line is,they make you work for it at both ends.

PD is darn good at his craft and a pleasure to watch will be tunning in on that one tonight.

Danault is rarely out of position, good stick, then add his tenacity, work ethic and smarts and he is extremely effective player in the playoffs even more due to the games being more tight checking all round. Now McDavid will still get his chances (he did have one great rush where he split the D and drew a penalty), plus their power play is lethal, so McDavid will get his points, he is just too good. I recall when Danault was drafted, he immediately become their best defensive forward prospect, his defensive work was touted coming into the draft.

I watched him for 3 years shut down huberdeau , nearly bounced them from the Men cup, and your right he doesn't stop moving, and can score as well ,

Oilers could have won both. Or should have. This past game Skinner was a bit wobbly on the pipe there. 2 goals where he pulled off the pipe a wee bit.
I think on the road where the Kings have last change. I’d load up McDavid and Draisaitl together. They can only put one line against them. And the chances are both of them are impossible to contain on a line.
Gawd dam Draisaitl has 64 points in 38 career playoff games. Just amazing. I think the Oil got a groove goin here and I look for them to destroy the kings…….. of Leon!!!

The Kings really missed Doughty and Arvidsson last year and they miss Fiala this year but they're strong up the middle and on D. Paying Doughty and Kopitar 21M didn't 'hamstring' the team or keep their FO from adding proper support, they bounced back nicely after a few down years and few bad deals now gone. Singing Danault to a clean 5MX5 UFA deal w/o losing a single asset is brilliant because he solidifies a good roster,a game/series changer in the right situation. Fiala had a solid 72pts in 69gms and helped the kings reach the 104pt mark and the Korpisalo trade looks looks brilliant too,IF they can re-sign him and maybe even if they can't,depending on how deep they go. He turns 29 next week.......the 'sweet-spot' for GT's and he'll want more than his current 1.3M for DAM sure.

Oilers have had the lead in every game. They gotta figure out how to batten down the hatches. I still think they’ll find their next gear. But undisciplined penalties will crush you every time. Draisaitl has to be better and I believe he will. Oilers gotta stop getting caught up in the after play shit.
I’d tell the players to walk away after every whistle and just line up for the face off. The other team will think you’re boring. That’s fine. But you’ll never get a penalty and the pp will crush them. Just skate away. If the oilers keep getting caught up in the sideshow, they’ll be at the Edmonton golf expo next week!!!
