Oilers have had the lead in every game. They gotta figure out how to batten down the hatches. I still think they’ll find their next gear. But undisciplined penalties will crush you every time. Draisaitl has to be better and I believe he will. Oilers gotta stop getting caught up in the after play shit. I’d tell the players to walk away after every whistle and just line up for the face off. The other team will think you’re boring. That’s fine. But you’ll never get a penalty and the pp will crush them. Just skate away. If the oilers keep getting caught up in the sideshow, they’ll be at the Edmonton golf expo next week!!! I hear ya T im a fan of the OIls coach. But Edmonton is the stupidest and at times the lazyiest team around. Someone ( McD ) needs to get a hold of that lockeroom and explain its about winning and doing what you need to do to win and at times its walk away, thats not a team your going to break in game 3 of a series. Feel sorry for McD he has to go over to the penalty box to babysit Kane. I would say #8 is in there heads.

It doesn't mean you can't be down 2-1 (or even 3-0) in a series but it's a reason for hope at least if you're an oiler's fan.

It seems that the Kings have rebounded from their bad seasons rather quickly. I don't know anything about their team. Can someone explain how they have done this? Great young players? Great vets? How is the mix of vets and youngsters? I know they still have Doughty and Kopitar as vets, but, otherwise, I know nothing about them except that they did get rid of Quick. I am curious about how they have rebounded so quickly because I wonder if they can serve as some sort of model for the Hawks to also quickly rebound from being the dregs.

Neither would I blame the Hawks for continuing to go for it after the 2015 Cup. The big question is whether they went about it the right way, but that has been debated endlessly here. Can you give me any details on the Kings as they are now put together? Why were they so good this year? I'll have to go look at their roster and see if I recognize any of their "names".

To me the Kings started to rebuild a couple years after their last cup in 2014. Hawks kept trying to retool up till this year even. Ours is looking like a chinese fire drill. The only ones Kings kept were Kopi, Doughty and Quick, and Quick they traded this year. They got rid of a couple regulars each year, like Muzzin, Lewis, Brown, Tofolli....

Hate to be cynical but seems like the league and/or networks want the Oilers to advance.

… and I’m not sure how much longer I can watch the same commercials - Seth Myers and the Amazon Prime in particular. At least I turn off the sound now.

Nice trip by McDavid before Drais goal, then a bs trip call near the end of the 2nd and the Oilers tied it at 3.
Shouldn't have went to OT.

no doubt campbell gets the next start. stopped 27 of 28.
he looked a bit shaky at the start but he got steadier and steadier the longer the game went on i reckon.

That is about as good an answer as I could expect as to my question. It "only" took five years for Blake to build a playoff team. It looks like it will take a while longer to build a dominant team. I'll go out on a limb here and state that it doesn't matter which team comes out of the West this year, the Cup winner will be a team from the East. But, at least, the Kings are a good West team. They would find it very difficult to win a series against any of the 8 teams in this year's East rodeo. They proved last night with their blowing of a 3-0 lead that they still have a long way to go to be a dominant team. But, hey, they have improved. I don't know if that is a start to dominance; or whether they have simply reached a plateau from which they will not rise. I expect the latter rather than the former.

Hopefully the refs don't let the Oilers get away with penalties that lead to goals, like last game.
