this'll be the last time i beat this poor dead horse, but that must've been an ultra-quick whistle if that's why it was disallowed. On SN they went over this. And there was never really a whistle blown till Bobrovsky stood up. I do believe the puck was in. But the call was never a goal on the ice. So there has to be irrefutable evidence that it went in. Did that puck completely cross the line? I cannot tell from that angle. It looks like it, but if it’s not 💯 then it’s no goal. We all know this. agreed. but there was definitely daylight between the edge of that puck and the goal line. i don't know how there could be doubt. and the whistle on the play came well after that. if the refs never saw the angle i posted above, then i cannot blame them for missing the call. but every replay and every angle of every broadcast should be available to the league in these situations.

I tried to post the video they played before start of 3rd where the ref at center ice, heading towards the blue line, blew his whistle while Bobrovsky was still on the ice. You don't see your pic until after Bobrovsky is getting up. That's why it was called no goal. Unfortunately the video is too big to post and I am technically challenged so don't know how to resize to fit

Unfortunately the video is too big to post and I am technically challenged so don't know how to resize to fit look again. in the top video posted below, the shot of the puck (which in my opinion clearly shows it across the line) is taken on the inital shot on bobrovsky and it shows montour standing in front of the net. on the overhead view, montour is behind the net around the time the whistle is blown (you can clearly see the ref behind the net blowing his whistle). now i don't know when (or why) the ref approaching the blue line blows his whistle from 70 feet away, but the ref behind the net blows his +/- 5 seconds after the puck had crossed the line. now, if you think that the puck in that somewhat grainy video wasn't clearly and definitely across the line, then that's fine. it's no goal.

I understand the ref behind the net and when he got directly behind it then blew his whistle. But what was shown on TNT was, before that ref got directly behind the net, the other ref had already blown his whistle which ended the play. Then Bobrovsky started to get up and when he did, the puck went over the line.

I saw the OT of last night's game and it said it all when it came to describing the Leafs. Just as the Leafs were mostly dominated by the Bolts, but won with a few lucky, timely goals, the Leafs were totally dominated by the Cats in the OT. I would have liked to have seen the zone time figures from the OT, but my eyes told me all I needed to know. The Panthers spent most of the period in the Leaf zone, engineering several plays which could have ended it earlier. The Leafs got the puck down in the Cat zone for a few seconds several times, but never spent much time down there and certainly didn't spend much time engineering plays to win it.
I don't know why the Leafs were so bad with puck possession and couldn't be more dominating with all the "stars" they had, but I know what I saw and Toronto was a team that was lacking whatever it takes to spend quality time in the opponent's end, setting up plays to score goals.

On the last play, the leafs went into the cats zone 3 on 2, but their 2 forwards collided and the play turned into 3 on 2 the other way. Again luck, good or bad, comes in to play.

For the Leafs fighting to stay alive and being at home it certainly looked to my eye that the Panthers wanted it more and carried the play in OT. If Bob keeps playing like in did in game 5 the Panthers have a chance to win the cup, although the Nylander goal was soft.

With the cats having a 3-1 game lead they could be more aggressive in OT than the Leafs. But in the long run, the leafs top 4 core did not show up this series.

From what I saw, neither did the rest of the team. They just didn't have what it takes to keep the puck in the other team's end and set up plays to score. It was almost a few quick seconds and then spend massive amounts of time in their own end. Hell, against the Bolts, they had trouble getting it out of their own end, either by passing, or skating. There were some serious fundamental flaws on this Toronto. I am too dumb to specify what they were, but they exhibited themselves in the failure to engage in much puck possession.
