kraken outhit the stars by a whopping 47-19. when one team outhits another by that kind of number it often means they are chasing the puck trying to gain possession. i don't know the possession numbers of the game but the SOG also favored seattle 44-35 so i don't believe lack of possession was a problem for them. the kraken also outhit the avs 46 to 23 in the deciding game last round. Hitters get hurt as well. It’ll wear on them too as this goes on, but it shows their mindset.

I am thinking that it's all anticlimactic to the Krak now. I just don't see that they would be able to maintain the same level of intensity. Secondly, Dallas is a deeper team with a better goalie. The Avs certainly skated very fast and purdy -- at least their top line did -- but in the end were not able to score. PS: Also, living in Portland, last thing I want to see is more Seattle gloating. I think we saw a lotta 'climax' last night and they might not be done 'climaxing' yet!LOL! I'll say the same thing about Seattle I said after their game one win against the Avs,I dunno how many more games they win in the series BUT this team means business! It ain't real pretty but we're lookin' at one well-run organization, one well constructed, well balanced roster and a well coached squad to boot.......I'll go to war with a dozen Yani Gourds! We'll see where Ron Francis goes with this team that has it's all it's picks PLUS the next three years(a 1st,THREE 2nd's and a 3rd in this summer's deep draft),16 guys signed(all the important ones)next year w/18M+ left over with only RFA's Dunn and 'Big hittin' Soucy to re-sign,a real good,20yro Beniers and maybe Wright works-out for em too. You'll notice the Kraken defends as a unit, five skaters moving in unison with no one puck watching OR chasing, they're fast on the break and in transition with the puck and their fore-check is relentless when they don't have it. Seattle's also missing Jared McCann, who isn't just a 40 goal scorer with a +18,he's a big, physical forward who plays a two-way game with 3 shorties on the kill this year.

Domi pots one. Possible GT interference but they ended up calling it a goal after review.

figure Grub gets the 3rd off He was the only GT to have played every minute for his team in the PO's up to that point. The 'Krak' were outscored 2-0 on the PP and gave-up an EN but never gave-up, outscoring Dallas 2-1 and outshootin' em 9-3 in the 3rd. Outscored em 3-2 ,5 on 5 for the game. Winning this series without their leading scorer would be MASSIVE!

Kraken obviously performing well in just their 2nd season but this is not a team of cast-offs and borderline NHL players. They have 5 first rounders, several 2nd rounders and a boatload of experience.

Well, I'm happy Domi, Lafferty, and McCabe got to see some playoff time. All three were good team guys when they were here.

Should be a good one. I had picked Stars in 6 so I’m already wrong. Seems it really could go either way.

1:59 of the stars' powerplay all in the kraken's zone with no whistle until the puck went out of play with a second left to kill. pretty cool.
great game so far.

Ya, it’s been a good game so far. I’m going for Dallas, and our boy Johnston. He turned 20 today. Happy bday Wyatt.
Although. Grubauer is a former Spitfire too, and he won a Memorial Cup for the Spits too.
But I’ll take Dallas please!!!

Johnston gets one too! I’ve mentioned many many times on here that Jim Nill is a very smart hockey man. It took him about 3 years to clean up what was there. Now, he’s implemented a lot of his guys. Now that he’s had a chance to put a lot of his draft picks in there, it’s looking like he’s a genius. Wyatt Johnston with the 23rd overall is dirty to steal him there. Hintz was a 2nd rounder I believe. Heiskanen. He’s built quite the team there. I’m glad Dallas made it through. Life is better with some “Stars” playing. In this case 20 of em!!!

He immediately quit hockey and went on to coaching. Smart move. Wyatt had 124 points last year for Windsor. Would a been nice of Nill to send him back. Hahaha. But they’ve drafted quite well in Big D. Wyatt, Hintz, Heiskanen, Robertson etc. just fantastic plucking all those guys and none in the top 10!!!
