The resurrection of ‘Bob’ is huge for The Cats! 63 saves last night? The last 42 he faced? He’ll be a hell of a lot easier to move IF he gets his team to the SCF,win it and Fla won’t want to move him! I know the PO’ s don’t factor into GMoTY but Zito’s a run-away winner if they reach the finals IMO.

This popped up on my Facebook memories today. On May 19th, 2015 (the infamous Andrew Shaw headbutt goal). Note: Freddie Andersen was in goal and the same final score:
If it seemed as though the Blackhawks' triple-overtime, 3-2 win over the Ducks lasted forever, consider this: 16 other Stanley Cup playoff games have gone on longer.
Marcus Kruger's game-winning goal came at the 56 minute, 12 second mark of the 3rd overtime, making Game 2 of this Western Conference final the 17th longest in NHL postseason history.
So, Andersen has improved by 1 overtime period, but still lost.
May 18th, 2023 quadruple OT lost 3 - 2 May 19th, 2015 triple OT lost 3 - 2

Wondering if one or both teams switch goalies next game due to the length of game 1? when i read your post i thought "not a chance". wrong-O. unless freddie is nursing an injury...that's a pretty ballsy move by brinda'mour.

Pretty even 2nd period. Panthers took the 1st period punch and didn't panic. Now all the pressure on the Hurricanes going into the 3rd. Must win for them and they're trying to get one past a red hot Bobrovsky.

3 conference final games, 3 OT's, and none of the 4 teams have led by more then 1 goal. Incredible

cats 10-4 in the playoffs and have only played 5 home games. And lost 3 of those games at home (2 to Boston and 1 to Toronto)

I’m gonna say this again. Gotta have that Star Power to push ya through. Tkachuk and Barkov are really carrying them through. Montour has become a total legend on the back end. He’s unreal. Good for the panthers. I love Mo behind the bench. He’s one of the greatest people you’ll ever meet. Plus Belle Rivers (Windsor suburb) own Ekblad is easy to root for.
A side note. Chatfield scored for the Canes. He was the captain of my Spitfires when they won the Memorial Cup in 2017. Great kid. I’m happy for him. He even snowed some kids on the bench in warmups. But probably not his year!!!

i'd bet heavily on andersen. same, although it doesn't matter if Bob stays hot. that cool 10 million per might be worth it, finally, for the cats... hard to put a $$ value on a stanley cup. anyways...'til now, i thought bob would let in a quick couple bad ones and in short order he'd go back to being a 3 goal a game, .900 goalie. don't see that happening any time soon now. a couple years back, i never thought #16 ranked montreal had much of a chance at winning the cup, even when they got to the finals. this year, when #16 ranked florida took out the bruins, i immediately thought they had a realistic chance at winning a cup. no comparing those 2 teams at all imho. edit: btw...i'm still not counting out the 'canes.

I know we talk about #1 centers and top pair D but at some point Hawks will need to draft and develop or trade for a power forward along the likes of Tkachuk. Look at his impact in the playoffs beyond the obvious game winning goals. His mere presence, great in tight areas and along the boards, physical play, not afraid to mix it up, leadership already with a letter in his first season and he is skilled as well with great hands and quick shot release.
I am not sure if any forwards in this draft compares favorably to Tkachuk or with potential to develop into that big power forward. We already have great evidence that scoring alone like the Leafs have with Matthews, Marner, Tavares and Nylander will not get the job done.

Canes need to fix their 5-on-5. Both their goals were ppg. Im rooting for the Cats so i hope this trend continues Especially if the Cats stay out of the penalty box. Since here is no threat posed by the Carolina power play, the Cats might as well take a few penalties as some won't be called.

Dach is a powerforward, Savoie is only 5'11" but he's almost 200lbs and plays a powerforward style. And Raddysh might not fight but he's a big guy who finishes his hits and goes to the dirty areas and knows how to finish. If they move up around the #10 spot and Barlow or Leonard are there, that's who they should target, both are gritty skilled guys.

Im more amazed how Canes boasts as one of the best defensive team and Barkov had so much space and time for that show of a shot Same on the gwg goal. Raanta played great, he almost had that 3-on-1 ppg by tkachuk. Nothing more you can ask from him
