I thought it was a high stick but they didn't look at it long. Still a bonehead giveaway.

I thought it was a high stick but they didn't look at it long. Still a bonehead giveaway. yeah, I thought (and still think) it was a high stick, but whatevs. as you said, Florida can be mad, but it was a terrible giveaway to begin with. and then a helluva play by Stoner.

That save by Hill reminded me of Crows stop on Stamkos breakaway.

gonna be a rowdy series. reminds me of the 2019 Final. neither team is great, both are good and playing great together (if that makes any sense).
I hope it goes 7.

man, a shortie there would have made for a great finish.
anyways...tkachuk with a dumb penalty followed by another by bennett. down a pair with 4 1/2 minutes to go at that point. that's plenty of time, especially for an explosive team like florida.
79% of the time, the game 1 winner goes on to win the cup but i reckon there's along ways to go yet.

Terrible 3rd period by the Panthers. Undisciplined once they fell behind, and Tkachuk took an absolutely idiotic double minor and 10 late.
Hoping it was just the 10 day layoff and they play a better overall game 2. They weren't bad thru 2.

didn't take long for me to start rooting a little for Florida in this one. feels a little dirty that Vegas would win a Cup before Florida does. Vegas does have a pretty solid fan base, though. way better than the cats do. I wonder how long it lasts if/when they fall on hard times. I'd bet a good while. them being the first pro team in town really drew in the locals. I wonder about the fan base. I have friends who are massive Oilers fans. They were able to fly down, score decent tickets and mentioned that there were multiple empty seats around them. Makes you wonder when sports competition shows up and when the inevitable fall from contention takes place.

That save by Hill reminded me of Crows stop on Stamkos breakaway. [br Cousins was already thinking about seeing himself on the highlights reel. Should have beared down and buried it up instead of looking for the finesse tap. That was a desperation stab by Hill. Hope Cousins has nightmares about that, could have changed the game completely.

Tkachuk was pretty much invisible this game. Vegas has a deeper team. Fla's stars need to show better next game.

Florida has been bucking the odds throughout the playoffs. You're better at finding info, what were the odds of coming back from 3 games to 1 down vs Boston. not including this playoff year, teams have trailed in a series 3 games to 1 a total of 325 times and have come back to win 31 times. by my math, 31 divided by 325 equals .095, thus the chances of coming back from being down 3 games to 1 are 9.5%. www.puckreport.com/2009/04/nhl-playoff-comebacks-trailing-3-1.htmledit: if you're looking for the odds of a 16th seed team coming back from being down 1-3 to a #1 seed, i'm sure the odds are considerably lower but i doubt you'll be able to find an article that puts a number to it.

I got a buddy that lives there and he says tickets are not easy to get. well, not without spending a tidy sum, anyway. tickets for anything are easy to get if you have the proper funds... regardless, I went out to visit him in 2019 and it was Golden Knights everywhere. I almost always have something Blackhawks on, especially if it is cold cuz I'm wearing the 'hawks knit 100% of the time, and it was January. lots of people had comments when we were out and about. some knew hockey and some didn't, but all of them were about it. the locals there jumped all over the Knights cuz they've never had anyone there to root for as their own. then, they did well and the transplants jumped onboard. hell, I'm half expecting my buddy (wings fan) to be wearing GK Cup gear (if they win) when I see him next...

I don’t know, he saw both games there to start the series. He probably had game tickets before he went because he did get screwed over when he had to change his flight home when game two was shifted to Saturday from Friday. Myself, I didn’t watch five minutes of that series so I don’t know if Saturday was a noon game.

I believe season tickets and luxury boxes are sold out for as far as the eye can see out there, the town's loaded. When they needed a new stadium, the money just fell out of their pockets. Hard times don't have to come to Las Vegas, especially if McPhee and McCrimmon continue to play their cards right. LV has no one signed beyond four years and three years from now show 7 players signed with 51M+ in cap-space and big cap increases might be on the horizon from what I've read.

I think they already have enough of a base that they'll be just fine once they hit.
