bit of a reach, imo.
like the player, another worker. dunno if we needed to trade 2 seconds for him, though.

My guess. Davidson will be adding at least one second round pick tomorrow in a cap dump deal.
This is why he is dumping the two today.
The team still has a ton of cap space.

Might have been there at 34 but I like KD not waiting around For what it’s worth, I’ve just seen a study about similar injuries and surgery in NHL players. Seems like it’s detrimental to a career. Now Vanacker is young but is his upside as an injured prospect that much better than say a healthy Andrew Basha?

first overall if you go by the first interview. dude has a rep as a grade A sack of shit. I'm guessing the league didn't want him on TV right now. regardless who drafted him, i hope he's grown up some and all that shit stays in the past. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trevor_Connelly

I'm guessing the league didn't want him on TV right now. regardless who drafted him, i hope he's grown up some and all that shit stays in the past. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trevor_ConnellyIts funny. Here in Canada a teen can do a property crime or even a heinous physical crime and the young offender laws will protect his identity, the thinking being teens are stupid and ignorant of consequences and should be given a second chance without said crime following them around forever. A 15 year old Connelly shares a picture of his buddy and his Lego swastika and he's tarred for life. Now he’ll be “controversial “ for at least the immediate future. He’s done his self flagellation tour and done the rounds of community service to show he’s aware of his mistakes. I’m not sure what else he’s supposed to do. I don’t think he’ll be setting up a Bund Rally outside of T-Mobile. If the so called paragons of our society can do a helluva lot worse and skate away, I’d say leave the kid alone. He’ll probably end up being the poster boy of good behaviour now.

i remember thinking that almost all the teams never mentioned vegas or the incredible venue but it never struck me until i read this tweet that there was something else missing. that's odd. i wonder why? just a massive oversight? hard to believe.

2024 Draft

via mobile
Post by BigT on Jun 28, 2024 23:30:55 GMT -6
I stayed away cuz I think this was a massive step back for the Hawks franchise. I think they got at best 1 NHL player out of this draft. I don’t understand any of the thinking here. I get it, most are in the camp of “gotta wait and see”. But year after year we wait and see, the only good things we’ve seen so far are the last GMs guys leading the rebuild. And KD has had since 2022. I don’t expect the world get.
But…… let’s say the Hawks didn’t get Bedard. This whole thing looks like a Nashville type building process. Maybe some decent players but mostly a team of 3/4 liners. Is this the goal here? Just try and draft guys that’ll be 3/4 liners? Even Levshunov is slotted to be a top 4. Is this the guy to spend a 2nd overall on? He’s drafted forward high with size. And I don’t care to hear this bullshit of a 4th or 5th round pick has size. They barely make it. It’s a stupid redundant call to look like a genius when we all know none of us are not.
Plain and simple. We just seen again what wins in the playoffs. Hawks have none of that. I don’t give a F*** if Boisvert is 6’2” and his dad owned a gym. Look at the cup champs. And last years and the year before and so on. The point is you need size at your top positions. Example Toews 6’2”. Hossa 6’2”. Saad 6’2”. Sharp 6’1”. Handzus 6’4”. Kane 5’10”.
The Hawks top 6 were huge. Sure they traded for Sharp and Handzus. And signed Hossa. But I just don’t see the logic in what they’re doing. This is the first draft where they took size especially in round 1. But I don’t thing there’s much skill there that’s translatable to the NHL.
Sorry for the long winded post. But I feel KD has maybe a year left. I don’t believe the Hawks re-sign him, and he was just here to do the dirty work. He’ll be too in Love with his prospects. There’s a reason why we’re hearing about a few GMs coming to Chicago!!!

pretty crazy. back in the mid 70's there were anywhere from 16-18 teams so i think it would be an easier thing to accomplish. to do it in a 32-team league takes a bit of doing.
edit: maybe i'm a bit effed up. actually i think it would be easier to accrue more first rounders in a 32 team league. more teams = more opportunities.
either way, it's been a while...
