Blackwell should get a star. Can’t believe Johansson didn’t get an extra two for the free shot to Blackwell’s face.

Can’t think of a better team to beat, whiners. their commentators are worse, had to listen to them the second half of the game

Conner Murphy was great tonight. Zaitsev played his best game as a Hawk.

Nice team effort tonight for the W. Nick showing his worth as the team leader, nice to see Reichel with goal, hopefully it gives him some confidence moving forward. I will say this, with more NHL experience, development and maturity I see some very good things coming from our defence. They have had some real stinkers but when they do play well it provides a calming feeling as to what the future could hold. It’s the first time is long time the Hawks have many options on the backend moving forward. Philps played very well tonight, Crevier and Kaiser also played very well tonight as did Murphy and Zaitsev. I think KD has stacked the defensive prospects for years to come, hopefully next year we will be able to see what the offensive prospects can bring to the table.

Hawks with 15 TKA’s tonight. Forwards played a far more effective checking role tonight in both ends and it payed off in chances and helped out the beleaguered defense corps.

Tincup, I think that’s the big issue with this team is to be consistent. I liked the way Blackwell played, Dickinson and Foligno that’s a solid line. This team shows flashes of what it can be with obviously with more talent up front. I am ok with the team focusing there efforts on solidifying the defense, the talent is there, now I am hoping that we see that talent up front next season as well.

That was a hell of a good game for the Hawks. Good to see Reichel get one and Bedard get two helpers. I know the Avs were missing Makar, but, even so, it is hard to believe that that team has so many more points than the Hawks just based on tonight's performance. It is not because the Avs lost, but just from judging the overall performance of the individual players, the Avs got nothing on the Hawks. The Hawks stayed with them play for play. The Avs did not look like one of the better teams in the league. They looked very pedestrian and less than competent. That team ain't gonna be winning any Cups this year unless it is the Chump Cup. But, hey, the Hawks came to play and looked better than the Avs in many facets. Good for them!!!

Just saw the highlights and the Hawks held their own. Soooo, with a ton of CAP would you try for 1 high end forward to compliment Bedard? Like Nylander to put on his RW?

Don’t usually hear a player be so candid about his teammates as Toews is here…I think they’re shocked about losing to the Hawks tonight..

Everyone ready for another painful night of hockey viewing? I am ready for another night of watching the Energizer Bunny of the NHL----Nathan MacKinnon. I love to watch him play. Who cares if the Hawks win or lose. that was the laziest I have ever seen him play. Falling down all over the place then cherry picking and not coming back. Anytime I get to watch ryan Johanson fail its a good day!!!!! The most yelling I have done at a game all year! Lucas with a coming out party. Issac looked real good again. I don't know how that happened but thr Avs thought it was gonna be easy , Hawks put up a fight way to go boys!!!!

Avs are now a .500 road team.
Still somewhat early in the season but not sure they're the real deal. Yes...they are missing makar but the last time i looked we were down a body or 2 as well.

I'm so proud of the yewts, especially the D. Glad to see the whole team moving the puck quicker, hustling for loose pucks, and the forwards back-checking hard. Loved the effort!

Before we get too excited, let's recognize this was the Avalanche's third game in four nights, playing on the road against a rested Blackhawks team after crossing an international border two nights before.
In other words, the victory was largely pre-determined by the schedule makers (just like the one last week).
I am not trying to burst anyone's bubble here.....it is what it is. These schedule quirks do even out, but the Central Division teams play them more than others.

I was just pleased to see them working hard with a positive attitude. This team despite a lot of setbacks is still together and committed. That is one of Luke’s primary responsibilities. The additional talent will come both through draft and via acquisition.

Conner Murphy was great tonight. Zaitsev played his best game as a Hawk. Zaitsev's down-side in the past has been the occasional train wreck game,he can also play well for stretches. It'll be tough once everyone's back but the more Zaitsev plays, the more he'll be worth at TDL time. There's a little up-side in Zaitsev's game too and the train wreck games continue in Ottawa w/o him.

They should have just found a way to keep Kadri, who is also a bit of a headcase but getting 100% effort out of him isn't the problem like it is with Johanson.

Like I said, there'll be games where the lack of talent is on full display, like losing back-back games 11-2 out west against teams that were ready for us and there'll be games where the team out-works better opponents who don't have their legs on a particular night for some reason. In any event,KUDOS to the team for back-back,hard-working efforts with a few important pieces out. The team's best two young D-men were out of the line-up and yet another four D-men 24 and under still saw important minutes last night, none played less than 16:23,four were +1 and the other two had an even +/-,that's very encouraging.
There'll never be a substitute for NHL game experience when it comes to young D-men. I don't suggest rushing any who aren't ready but when their north of 20 and have a frame that'll withstand the rigors of the league, and you have a number of em......gotta see what they got.
I tuned-in to the 'Hawkscast' on NSC+ for the first time last night and enjoyed the F out of it! Charlie R had 'Bicksie' on for the entire game and he did a great job and looked healthy,Scott was on for a period from his home on zoom and was much more fun and candid than when he's in the studio and Bollig was fun for a period too. The left side of the screen has Charlie R(who also did a great job)and his guests pod-cast style and the other 80% of the screen showing the game in 'isolation' style. I haven't always been open to new tech and you miss game action isolating on a single player but what a different and exciting way to watch hockey and you can catch the replay of what ya missed. They obviously isolated on Bedard every time out and I HAVE to say this.......it was breathtaking!

We do tend to have this narcissist attitude about our team. When the Hawks win, we all tend to congratulate the guys for playing well. When they lose, it is because they played badly. We forget that the opponent also represents 50% of the equation. On those rare occasions when the Hawks win this year, it is largely because the opposition lacks interest or effort. Ten years ago when Toews, Kane and Keith were at their peak, it tended to be the opposite. I remember a road game against the the dismal Oilers where Sam Gagner scored eight points. The team looked exhausted that night and was not into it at all.

It's a long season and a single game makes no team a chump or a champ. The Avs lost a 1 goal road game to a lesser team, the Oil lost last night,LV lost last night and Boston,NJ and the Leafs all lost at home last night........will any of those losses matter in March?

However, to assign the Av loss to having to play their third game in four nights is totally weak. These are 20 to 35 year old guys who are in peak shape and PLAY 20 GD MINUTES PER NIGHT-----BFD. If they can't handle that, then they should try to join the pro cornhole league. But, then they might need Tommy John surgery.

This one game out of eighty two proves the team is totally weak? What'd their 6-2 win the game before prove? It's a long season and teams take their foot off the gas occasionally and it catches-up with them occasionally.........and then they carry on. But you know this as well as I do.

But, to assign their loss to the fact that it was their 3d game in 4 nights when they only play 20 minutes per night is total BS, in my opinion. As I said, 20 minutes per night----BFD!!!! That ain't no marathon. I was a serious athlete for many years and I know what it is like to play 20 minutes per night-----it ain't hard. Christ, I used to play ratball 2 hours per day, 6 days per week and I played with serious intensity. I am not saying I was a pro. I am only saying whether one is a pro, or a wannabee, like myself, playing any sport 20 minutes per night ain't shit.
