and a "4 nations" tournament in 2025.
apparently the league got the memo: no one gives a shit about the all-star game.
alternately, it sucks Bedard got hurt and missed it this year, pretty much looks like the league will only have an all-star game every other year and likely won't have another until 2027. not to mention, he would've been the youngest player ever to play in an all-star game...

I guess bowman has other commitments. : )
Some time back i heard friedman/marek interview guerin on their podcast. Seems very likeable and most definitely a "hockey guy". I think he's a good guy for the job and holding the same job in 2 different tourneys is a smart way to do it i think.

The GM for USA or Canada really can’t screw up. It would be very hard. Good luck Billy, but he won’t need it!!!

“IIHF Bars Russian, Belarusian National Teams Through 2024-25
The International Ice Hockey Federation announced Monday that all Russian and Belarusian national and club teams will remain barred from IIHF-sanctioned competitions for the 2024-25 championship season. As such, the two countries will not field squads at the upcoming Men’s and Women’s World Championships this spring, at the 2025 World Juniors, and, more importantly for Belarus, the final qualification round for the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy.
This decision does not mean that Russia will be barred from the 2026 Olympics, which will be the first edition that NHLers are permitted to attend in 12 years. The IIHF Council cited current safety risks for their decision and will review each country’s status again in May 2025.”
