I just can't pick the Avs and their shitty goaltending right now. Hellebuyck is the difference in this one.
jets in 7.

Jets in 6. Although MacKinnon is a beast, Jets are better suited for the playoff type of hockey.

Watching this game shows the Hawks have a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG way to go. You see type of game (high scoring) and then usually the next game is low scoring, will see.

georgiev looking to improve on his game 1 numbers of 7.41 and .696%.
jets have scored early but georgiev's save % has improved as he has stopped 5 of 6. : )
avs are another team whose backup goalie (prosvetov) has zero playoff experience...not that georgiev has a ton. just 8 starts total.
lots of playoff teams this year that have some question marks about their goalies.
edit: should've kept my big mouth shut.

The jets almost have to start brossoit in game 5 don't they? no kidding. Hellebuyck is probably going to win the Vezina, too. unbelievable how bad he has been in the playoffs.

So the Jets dumped their captain and supposed locker room problem Wheeler and gave Scheifele and Hellebuyck MAX/MAX extensions, finihed 2nd in the west with 110pts,2nd with a +60 goal diff and 1st with only 199 goals allowed.....WTF happened?

Looks to me the AV's have way too much speed for the Jets.

Hellebuyck did not play well and as T-man said too much speed. Even the game they won Hellebuyck gave up 6. There was a point in the season where he went a lot of games in a row (not sure of the actual numbers but it was large) without giving up more than 3 goals in a game

There was a point in the season where he went a lot of games in a row (not sure of the actual numbers but it was large) without giving up more than 3 goals in a game The Avs are fast, but the 2nd best team in the conference by every metric that went 3-0-0 against the Avs with a 7-0 win back on 4-13 should have put-up a better fight IMO. I know the Avs can score too(led the league),but the stingiest team in the league with the leading Vezina candidate allows a record number of goals? Did Bowness just get 'owned'? Colorado certainly played their style of wide-open,high scoring hockey.

you take the above comment for what it's worth but i like hellebuyck's candor here.
also found some numbers below which may add some credence to his statement.
still...the bottom line is you gotta' make some big saves here and there and screened or not, hellebuyck didn't.

I wonder if the AV's even contacted Toews about playing with them.
They did call Parisi out of retirement to play.

I guess Bowness saw enough this postseason to know he may as well not bother trying to win in Winnipeg any more...

I guess Bowness saw enough this postseason to know he may as well not bother trying to win in Winnipeg any more... well....he's been involved in professional hockey for the last 49 years and his next birthday will be his 70th and his contract had expired as well. i think you could maybe say that about paul maurice's departure but bowness's is a lot different.

I believe Bowness took some time off in regular season for personal reasons. Possibly health or family related, not sure though.
