As was discussed for years that since the NHL players are not participating to the Olympics, it's missing such an event to build a national pride. Remember when I was a kid and how involved and proud I've been each time when our players went to the olympics or world cups. Pity for other nations not to participate but I'd say that they need to start somewhere and then see how it'll progress further. |

Like Russian, Swiss, German players. honestly, i cannot possibly conceive how this could be any worse than the current all-star game format. we'll see. not sure if the swiss or the germans could ice a competitive team with current nhlers and besides, there's just a short window to get this all done. and if i might add...fuck the russians. jmho. |

Think it might be a joke also I did not realize it was mid season good grief. If any player is kinda banged up why would you play also they are cramming games in to make up for a 2 week layoff. I dont think this is a good idea |

Another Question if these are all NHL players are the coaches gonna have to be NHL coaches? cooper will be behind canada's bench and john hynes is the first asst. coach to be named and will serve under mike sullivan behind the u.s. bench. sullivan and cooper will coach their respective teams in the olympics as well. antti pennanen will coach finland with your boy tuomo as an assistant. pennanen coaches in finland. not sure about sweden yet. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NHL_4_Nations_Face-Off |

Think we'll see much of this?
I know it won't be the zero contact boredom of an ASG. I'm just wondering to what extent it will be physical?
Myself I think it will have most if not all of the intensity of any other international tourney.
It's going to be interesting and I can't wait.

I was a bit worried American board members here would be pissed at me for showing a Canadian knocking an American on his arse, but I thought that if it was Kesler, most here would be okay with it. I shoulda' been a diplomat... |
