Seems appropriate to start a thread about the #2 pick.
It was announced today he'll be out another four weeks. Not the start he wanted but it sounds like he's got a huge smile and taking everything in. KD said he's always around the facility and joked they have to kick him out some days.
If his next doctors visit in 7 days goes well he can start skating.
Bedard said he's around all the time, in the gym all day, and he's a great guy. Nice to hear he's working hard and staying positive.

good call.
I was going to mention the injury earlier today. no doubt he spends the vast majority (perhaps all) of the season in the Rock now. which is probably a good thing.

It definitely won't be a bad thing if he plays a full season there, or most of it. He's hungry and wants it, so let him shows he's ready by leading in Rockford.

I would agree a year, or at least a lot of time at Rockford, would help Levshunov. With just one year of college, I'd think it would help him learn all areas of being a d-man before he gets to the NHL, especially considering where he was picked and the expectations for him. If Rockford gets into the AHL playoffs, that would be good experience for him.

It was going to be a long shot for Arty to make the Hawks out of camp regardless how well he did in camp - but now it's certain since he won't participate in training camp ... which leads me to the next topic - does KK start the season in Chicago or Rockford? An argument can be made for either choice but I'm leaning Rockford because I would like to see KK and Arty play together to build a pairing relationship so it's almost like will be a pair rather than 2 individual d-men. Then hopefully both are ready to start for the Hawks in the 2025/26 season and be a pairing that stays together for many years like Keith and Seabrook.

I don't know if they'll play together, tbh. they might be better with each having their own partner that is more defensive-aligned. I'll bet we get to see it, though. from everything I read, it sure seems like a lot of the media types figure on KK starting in Rockford...

Let's say down the road a little as Levshunov gains more experience, he is not paired with KK.
Who would be good fits to pair with Levshunov?

Great to see he's ahead of schedule, 4 days ago KD said if his next doctors visit goes well he can start skating within 7 days.

Seems pretty obvious arty was experiencing no pain from the get-go so that's gotta' be a positive sign.

He'll finally get some game time this weekend, he should be paired with Del Mastro.

Levshunov had a strong first game and had the primary assist on the game tying goal. And he was out there in the last minute, the coach already trusts him.
He does everything really well and smart at both ends. And he's really strong, took a couple hits and one guy bounced off him near the penalty box and I heard him laugh and say good try.

The way that Demidov has started in the khl I was thinking we'd maybe picked wrong, this calms that, especially in his 1st game back. I am rooting for him to be a no 1 D man.

Catching some of Icehogs action, Levshunov had a couple giveaways but overall looked steady. Hope is all what the ?Hawks brass thought he was by taking him with the #2 pick.

just posted this in the icehog's thread but better post his first goal as a pro here for posterity.
The celly might need a bit of work.
